My son was born in 2001, and today was a sombering reminder of the future that my lie ahead.  Sorry to get alittle political, but it makes me happier but worries me as well that we've made progress in the War on Terror, but we're also farther from ending it as well.

I'm no longer sure that dialogue will solve the issues in the Middle East, but I don't think your ever going to see things change to the point of there being Peace.  I just know that my children may have to continue this struggle, if its in the military or as civilians.  But I guess it won't be any different then when I grew up in the 80's.

We were constantly worried about the BOMB.  But it never was dropped, and after a while you just got numb to the talk about the END of the World chatter.  I'm sure it will be the same for my children.  But it's does make you pause on days like this and think about your childrens future and what we can do about it today.

I salute the firemen and policemen that entered those buidlings that day five years ago.  I salute the soliders that have died since, and I do hope there is a way to end terrorism in the future.  May God bless those survivors of that terrible tragedy, and may God bless our troops abroad and those whom protect us at home.
