More Than Meets The Eye (My closest book meme)

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with HomeRome Realty 410-530-2400 311291

When I saw that I had been MeMe'd again, I thought, "Oh no not again," but this one is a bit different and about books - have you noticed that I am into books lately? - and it was Greg Gorman who asked. Now how can I say "no" to Greg? Not possible. Here is the original MeMeMore Than Meets The Eye by Joan Brock

This was the book that was on my desk so it was my Closest Book

Here is the way it works:

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 56.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next two to five sentences.
5. Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book or the intellectual one. Pick the Closest.
6. Tag five people to do the same

*The one book that this can not be is the Bible*

The book closest to me is  More Than Meets the Eye  by Joan Brock

SeeJoan autographed it for  me

Autographed book by Joan BrockFrom page 56: "Now, as I recall and record the words Dad spoke on that carefree day when I married Joe, I find myself foolishly wondering whether we would have been too daunted to make our solemn vows had we but glimpsed the perils and pain that lay ahead for both of us."

If you get the chance, please read the story of this remarkable young woman and how she has dealt with life's challenges. I was fortunate to meet and hear Joan Brock speak. What an inspiring story which touched me personally.  There is also a TV movie made with the same name More Than Meets The Eye

http://www.joanbrock.com/  to learn more about this special person.

Now, I get to tag 5 people:

1. Randy Prothero

2. Bridget McGee

3. Gail Harris

4. Steve Warrene

5. Connie Harvey

Margaret,

Thank you for tagging me.

The closest book to me right now is  St. Joseph, My Real Estate Agent. On page 56 sentence 5 is--

His most famous ancestor had been king David, Israel's most beloved ruler.  Bethlehem, the town of King David's origin, was where young David had to take care of the flock of his father, Jesse.  It was the town to which the prophet had come and anointed Jesse's youngest son, making him the future king.

I  am thankful to be tagged by you.  You have been very helpful to me here at A/R.

YOO ROCK !!

Yea Margaret! Thanks for participating and touching others. Just when some think reading is dead...along comes the most fun exercise and an opportunity to share. I for one will also be buying a couple of new recommended books. Hugs from Paradise and have a great weekend!

You were right Greg. This one was fun and I am hoping the others tagged will join in.  Just too much to do and so little time.

Hello Margaret,

Thanks for the MEME.  It's my first, I guess that makes me a MEME virgin.  How exciting!

The closest book to me is Connect by Keith Harrell and Hattie Hill.  Keith is a "superfantastic" motivational speaker that had been invited to speak at an Allied Home Mortgage Capital Corp. convention in Houston.  He spoke on Attitude.  If you ever get a chance to hear him, grab it!  He's fabulous!

from page 56  For some people change is hard to accept, much less embrace; yet we have been changing physically, emotionally, and spiritually since birth.  Our circumstances and surroundings change day by day, even moment by moment.  Think how boring life would be without change.

In this ever-changing real estate and mortgage market we all have to embrace change.  Many in this market wander around moping like Eeyore (Woe is me, it's a horrible market, there's no business to be had) or hop around like Tigger (Maybe if I bounce around enough telling everyone how special I am, someone will bite).  I think as the best of all  agents and brokers we need to be like Pooh keep our eye on finding the Honey Pot.  Focus on the right thing, surround yourself with good folks, go with the flow and we will be fine!

Thanks for the tag! I thought at first that maybe we all work with siblings since I work with my brother and my sister, and Randy works with his brother Russ, but when I checked out Gail's blog, there didn't seem to be any resemblence.  Is is that we are all amazingly intelligent and quick to act?  I don't want to spoil the mystery!

All the best with your new book!  I can't wait to read it!

Margaret, this is funny to me because I commented on Margaret Woda's MeMe yesterday or the day before. I was laughing because the only books here at my desk were, the yellow pages, my CRS membership directory and the Top Producer manual. Actually, next to it was "Your Guide to Greatness in Sales by Tom Hopkins."

I told Thom that I hoped this MeMe skipped me. I should have known better. :) Then I hoped I'd get it at home where my books are much more interesting! I'll get to the post and send you the link. I'm looking forward to reading your book.

When are you going to tell us what we have in common????

Bridget, Congratulations on you very first MEME.Thanks for participating and joining in so quickly.  Good quote from the book and I liked the way you related it to real estate. 'For some people change is hard to accept, much less embrace; yet we have been changing physically, emotionally, and spiritually since birth.  Our circumstances and surroundings change day by day, even moment by moment.  Think how boring life would be without change.

In this ever-changing real estate and mortgage market we all have to embrace'

I appreciate your good wishes on my' book!

Thanks C-Tann for stopping by. You have a pretty impressive lists of books!

Tanya, Hope you will share some of your favorite books.

Connie, That is funny! Turning to Page 56 of the CRS, let's see if anyone from AR is on this page. Page 56 ....agents from Carefree,AZ. But my friend and fellow CyberStar(tm) is on the top of page 57.

Thanks for your encouragement!

You will figure it out soon.

Randy, I felt the same way. It is difficult to say no to such special people. And it was fun...though time consuming. Thanks for always being there for me.

Melody, Thanks for checking it out.
