In fact, we have both! We have MOUNTAINS COMMUNITY HOSPITAL (MCH) and LAKE ARROWHEAD MEDICAL CENTER, with many qualified doctors and specialists. Right here in the mountains! And, IF you have a major medical problem that cannot be handled by the hospital, they have helicopter pad and a patient will be MEDEVAC'D down the mountain within moments.
Mountains Community Hospital was built in 1951 (good year--I was born then!). Its a full-service hospital and birthing center. There is a physician on duty 24/7, 365 days a year at their Emergency Room. They also offer the only obstetric services from Big Bear to Crestline.

Licensed by the State of California, MCH is Medicare and Medi-Cal certified. They are one of the few small rural 
hospitals accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health care Organizations.
