This is Important - Also there is a place, information is provided below where Xerox is offering Free cards. It will only take a moment to say Thank You. This is a difficult time of the year for our troops, put yourself in their shoes and you would understand. Follow all of the instructi ons and send a card.

FIRST OF ALL, PLEASE TAKE NOTE THAT.....

Walter Reed Army Hospital will NOT accept letters/cards addressed to "A Recovering American Soldier", as stated in an email currently being circulated.

READ MORE AT BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE .....and read guidelines on how and where you CAN send cards to our wounded service members at hospitals around the country and overseas.

Now .....please scroll down and get information on where you can send cards to our troops in Iraq.

LET  THEM  KNOW  WE  CARE!

XEROX IS DOING SOMETHING COOL... If you go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks.com  you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq . You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of the armed services.

How WONDERFUL it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! It is FREE and it only takes a second. Wouldn't it be GREAT if our soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our soldiers over there need to know we are behind them. This takes just 10 seconds and it's a wonderful way to say thank you. Please take the time and please take the time to pass it on for others to do.

We can never say thank you enough!!!

One more thing..... IF YOU'VE RECEIVED AN EMAIL ENCOURAGING YOU TO SEND CARDS ADDRESSED TO.......

A Recovering American Soldier
c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center

6900 Georgia Avenue,NW

Washington,D.C. 20307-5001

PLEASE TAKE NOTE THAT...

Walter Reed Army Hospital will NOT accept letters/cards addressed to "A Recovering American Soldier".

Cards and letters must be sent through the American Red Cross program.  You can find their guidelines on the Walter Reed Army Medical Center website at:  http://www.wramc.amedd.army.mil/WRResource/Holiday_Cards_2008.pdf
Please note that your cards must be postmarked by Wednesday, December 10th.
Thanks for taking time to support our military!

Carl, great site!!!  Thank you for sharing!!!   I sent a card from Don & me.  My son-in-law was there last year for Christmas -- we sure missed him during the holidays.  This year another family is missing a member of their family so Randy can be home with us.

Judi - Ceil wanted to put this site on. The Xerox site is really, really nice. It's easy and I hope many people will take just  moment to send a card. A friend of hers in Florida sent her the information.

Carl, I'm going to feature it in the Lone Star R.E. Professionals Group.  Wouldn't it be nice if everyone in Active Rain (no matter their feelings about the war) would send one card???   Over 120,000 cards would be sent out just from the members of Active Rain!!!  That would be awesome!!!

Judi that would be awesome. My daughter-in-laws nephew is over in Iraq. This is his third tour. He is special forces. Would you check and see if I put it with the right groups. Sometimes we aren't sure where to put some of our blogs.

I think Judi has a great idea of everyone sending a car.  I definitely will get mine done tomorrow.  KM

Kristin send a few of your friends over to do exactly that. It is so easy and I know it is a wonderful and spiritual thing for us to do. Let's show our appreciation and let them know we realize the sacrifice that is being made.

Feel free to share this information with your schools and church congregations if they aren't already doing the card sending program. Hugs, Ceil

Brenda - We don't know who will be receiving your card but the importance of sending the card will get it to someone that will appreciate I'm sure.

Cindy - We just don't want to forget our brave and caring military and how much they are giving up being away from family and friends. A simple card or even a care package I'm sure will be appreciated. Thank you stopping and feel free to share this information with your friends and family.

Carl, I'M SO GLAD YOU WROTE THIS POST!!   I have received that email about Walter Reed about 3 times here recently and each time I send the person to snopes.

Our son leaves to go back to Iraq in the morning.  It has been so nice having him home the last 3 weeks.  He only has a few months left though as he gets out of there in March.  He seems okay with going back but I'm of course being a MOM.

Marchel - I am so glad you stopped by and happy you have had some time with your son. I can just imagine how heavy your heart is when you have to say good by. I know you will be marking the calendar everyday looking toward March. Please let him know and if he will let his friends know we appreciate them for the service they have given to this country.
