Just wanted to put this out there...... How is everyone feeling about the market?

* Positive
* Concerned but optimistic
* Just plain concerned
* I don't know what to think
* I'm preparing for the worst while loading up on ammunition and canned goods

I'm still concerned but optimistic. I personally believe that the spring is going to bring a pretty solid turnaround, at least in our area. (Charlotte, NC) What about some of the rest of you around the country? What's your take on all of this?

Jon, very good question to be asking and here is what I think. I would say I am very concerned but optimistic. I am also a realist and therefore stocking up on canned goods! I know that this might sound like I am contradicting myself, but I don't think I am. People can always view that glass is half full and still be smart enough to prepare for the worse.

I hope your correct about the Spring Market, I too think there is potential for it to be better. The reason I think this could happen is that the number of Realtors has dropped so much and once there is a bottom and we begin to have some Buyers coming out, the numbers will work in our favor.

Jon,

I love this market!  I'm an investor of course so I buy at wholesale prices.  I work on short sales, option contracts, wholesaling and so on.  With the specialized knowledge I have, to invest, this is a great market for us.

Great topic!

The market is slowing down here in College Station, but it will soon be picking up when all the seniors in high school are coming to town!

When I hear Real Estate Consultants are taking other jobs besides selling real estate I become concerned...  When I read that the employment rate is at a low I am concerned...   Every day seems like something new happens.   Its scary!

I think that the true professionals will survive and be fine.  The Congress needs to release the monies to the banks to get our economy growing again.  I don't understand why they have held onto it now for four months.  I believe that once they do release those trillions of dollars, we will see some relief.  The buyers are scared right now and the Congress is not helping.

Jon: I'm newer to the game (2 1/2 years) so still have that zeal. Howerver, honestly, I'm hopeful my business can survive the next 6 months. I'm doing well at the moment but know that it will continue to be tough until the Spring or Summer of 2009.
