I have always loved taking pictures.  I was a manicurist and then a cosmetologist in college and owned a salon for a while after that (I know I look young - I eat lots of yogurt - lol), so I took a lot of photos of nails and hairstyles, etc. I haven't purchased a new camera since 2000.  That one was a Minolta QTsi.  35mm. Not digital or anything.  Then my dad, who loves gadgets, got himself a new digital camera and gave me his old one.  It was an HP.  One of the older ones.  Well, one of the three kids - any one of them is good for it - found a way to break the little door that holds in the batteries.  I love free stuff - so I was annoyed to say the least.  So I started using my husband's digital camera, which was older than the HP! It gave out a few days ago, and these days, you can't be an agent without a digital camera! he got me a Sony Alpha 100K.  I haven't used it yet, but I am anticipating great photos.  Anyone have one or know anyone who uses one?

 Most digital cameras are pretty much the same.  All you really need to do is snuggle up with a cup of joe and read the instruction manual in between the commercials of your favorite TV show.  Mine has to be House...but Bones is starting to make a real showing...take care!

The DSLR - Sony Alpha?  I have one.  My original film cameras were Minolta.  I have lots of Minolta-mount lenses. 

As you may know, Minolta was bought out by Konica and became Konica-Minolta.  Then in 2005, Sony bought the Minolta camera technology from Konica, with the annoucement that the companies would "jointly" develop digital SLR cameras, then, in early 2006, the Minolta name was laid to rest.

I have a Konica-Minolta D5, and I liked it so much, that when Sony came out with the Alpha, which is sort-of an update of the Konica-Minolta unit, I bought one of those, too. 

I've already confessed that I buy cameras the way Imeda Marcos bought shoes.

It  feels heavier and more solid than my Canon Rebels.  And, honestly, I like the straight out of the box run-on-full-auto image quality better than my Canons (did I say that? :-)

I also like the function dial on the left (as you hold the camera).  It've very intuitive (for me, anyway)  Dial in the function you want, say ISO, press the center function button, then turn the main dial.

Do treat yourself to a Sony or Tamron 12-24mm wide angle lens.  You won't regret it.

Thanks so much! I have yet to use it.  I had appointments this weekend, so I am going to go and do photos of my listings today.  I need to update the one in the MLS.  I am not a photographer for real, but I LOVE taking pictures.  How do you organize and store your digital photos? do you have a filing system on your hard drive or do you put them on CDs?
