I am an realtor in Knoxville, TN and have had a referral agreement with a Realtor around East Hampton, NY. The Realtor had to change companies when the company went under. Now she is refusing to accept the referral agreement I sent to her current company and her. She said it is company policy not to accept ANY referrals. Is this the normal way to do business in New York? Why would a company refuse business?
My broker thinks she is just trying to get out of paying the referral fee when the house sells.
