I have been told that gas prices have been coming down... which I have seen too.  Connecticut though as one of the highest state tax on gas, that seeing prices as low as other parts in the country seem very unlikely.. until today.

Here in Cromwell, CT at the Mobil Station on the corner of Route 3 and Route 372 made history today.  I was passing by, and did a double take, and also a U-Turn to take a picture of this.  The woman was literally in the middle of changing the price from $2.09 to.. ready for this... $1.99 a gallon for a cash sale.   Yes, Virginia there is a santa claus. We haven't seen these prices in years.

If you are wondering.. NO I did not get gas.. I just filled up yesterday for $2.09.  Figures.  But even at $2.09, I'm NOT COMPLAINING.

Let's here it for Cromwell, CT and the Mobil Station.. Hooray.  You will be making people's Thanksgiving a little easier for traveling..

Which in turn means they *might* spend more money.. which will help the ecomony.  This isn't rocket science.. just basic economics.. and I didn't even run for president. :)

For gas prices in your area check out this website... gas prices.

Valerie, I was in Niantic yesterday, still 207.9 there.  Wethersfield, on the Silas Deane Hwy was $1.99 and then, in the afternoon, Willimantic was $1.92. Credit or Cash, didn't matter.

 It is a wonderful life!

By the way, this morning, in Manchester, heating oil was advertised at $2.29 a gallon.  Whoo Hoo!

Marlene.. WHAT??? I love to hear this.. but I'd love to see that sign too.  Great to hear that Connecticut is following suit with the rest of the country.  I'll have to tell my broker about that... he is going to Colchester tomorrow.. I'll let him know to hold off on filling up his truck.

Valerie, it was $1.99 on South Main Street in Middletown for CREDIT.  It is still to high and needs to keep coming down.

Valerie, I did not know that they could charge you a higher price for credit... Connecticut must have some odd laws... Here in TN it the same price cash or credit...

I guess as an update today I paid 1.79 per for unleaded reg.  It is the only thing that is good about the financial issues going on now.

George.. I now see where it is coming down all over the area.. below $1.99.  I think this is great.  I'll be glad to always have it at $1.99 than to have it go up over $4.00 a gallon.  I'm thankful it is where it is... not greedy.

Bubba.. It used to be the same here.. but Connecticut is one of the highest taxes states for gas.  I have no idea why it is more for credit.  But if one gas station does it.. others will follow if they can get away with it.

Jack... I like your gas prices.  I'm hoping we'll see that here some time soon.  If not, the price of $1.99 is a lot better than $4.31 a gallon as it was a few months ago.

It doesn't take rocket science to know that when the gas prices started soaring, the confidence of the public diminished.  This is *part* of the reason why we are in the economic state we are in.

Debi.. I just finished commenting on your blog.  Funny you left a comment here about it.  Great minds do think a like.  I do hope to see that price in a few months.  It always takes longer here in CT to see these prices.
