There has been some controversy over the website forsalebyowner and how they are putting FSBO listings on the Realtor's website Realtor.com.

The way they are doing it is to go through a limited service broker who then uploads the listing to his MLS and then Realtor.com. It doesn't matter which MLS they use as Realtor.com pull all its data from MLS's across the country...

I believe it was mis leading for this site to advertise that they would put anyone's home on Realtor.com etc.It made it look like they were "Directly" doing it going around an brokers or agents!

So in summary there are not True FSBO's on Realtor.com...it only appeared that way with what forsalebyowner had on their website.

With the DOJ's recent ruling access to the information will be easier now for all.

How do you feel about having forsalebyowners listings on Realtor Dot Com??

I don't want for sale by owners listing in MLS or REALTOR.COM anymore than I want Fee for Service Listings there.  If the forsalebyowners are getting their homes put into MLS, don't they have a Fee for Service Listing with the Realtor?  MY personal problem with the Fee for Service is that don't hold up their fudiciary duty to the client.  Thanks for the info !!

I quit advertising on Realtor.com quite some time ago.  Is it still working for anyone?

Brett,

I paid Realtor.com several hundred dollars this year to include multiple photos and etc.  I haven't made a single sale or even a prospect from Realtor.com this year.  A total waste of my money.
