Bikes & Blues With Mickey Jones, The Bike Run for St Jude Hospital

You've waited a long time for this one haven't you? You want to know how many bikes were on the ride, how much money did we raise, how did everything go?

It was a beautiful day, no threat of rain, nice and warm, perfect for our Bike Parade. I took over 360 photos this day, but I couldn't manage a good shot from the back of our 82 Shovel-head, of the actual ride.. HOWEVER! I did hook up with a photography club and they were placed thru-out the parade route with still and video cameras, when I get some of their photos I will share them with you. It was also a beautiful day to be in the air. WHAT? THE AIR? As In The Sky?? Yes! We had Air Support, 1 helicopter following us with a camera, AND! Three squads of 4 old airplanes and 1 squad of 3 WW1 planes pacing us, a group called the Spruce Creek Gaggles. (Wouldn't you know it, no website for them.) More about that in a little while.

Mickey Jones, Bubba Baker, Big Mike Griffin and gang arrived promptly at 900AM

I ran around snapping photo's until our St. Jude's Featured Child Easton Wargo arrived with his family at around 10. What a wonderful family!

Target Stores built The Target House at St. Jude in Memphis, it is where the families of sick chidren stay for free while the children are being treated, the Wargos being one of those famlies. We had our own Target Team of Volunteers at the Iron Horse, This is them with Easton and his Daddy.

Our Celebritys also posed with the Wargos...

Then we went to meet Mickey in the "Green Room".

After Dad took the kids to turn them into "Bikers For A Day"

We got close to our departure time, Mickey took the stage to say a few words and once again thank our many many sponsors (you can never thank the sponsors enough). Gary Wargo and Easton joined Mickey on stage to thank the many bikers who showed up for their support in this wonderful event. They were quite overwhelmed by everything. Mickey presented Easton with his official Bikes and Blues Helmet and Jamie, Easton's sister her Winnie The Pooh Barbie.

Easton Wargo was St. Jude Patient of the month in April of 2005

We then had our Blessing of the Bikes, started our engines and got behind our 28 police escorts. At 11:15 it was clutches out and feet up.

Behind our 28 Motor Units from Various Police Departments in our area was a line 3 miles long made up of 1200 Motorcycles

Guess what?

I'm going to do it to you again...

To be continued.............

AWESOME photos, Lysa!!  What a great day!

Do you use Real Estate Shows?  I'm asking because I guess you don't (not being a Realtor) and I wanted to offer to make you a show of these pictures that you can use if you like.  I could send you an unbranded version that you could e-mail around, share with Easton's family and so on.  (If you were an agent I'd tell you to go make your own!)  Just let me know, happy to do it for you!

Thanks Sarah! It was a great day for sure. No, I don't use Real Estate Shows, but that is a thought isn't it? That would be wonderful if you have time to make a show and yes I'll share it with the Wargos! You are a sweetie! Midori has been talking about Jeff's Real Estate Shows, I've watched several of the presentations here on AR, I never thought of using them for myself I still have to add the end of the day on, there are just so many photos and things that happened I decided to do it in two parts as I'm about to get a little wordy :)

Hi, Lysa!  Here's your link:

http://www.realestateshows.com/show.php?mls=basic&id=155187

Let me know if you'd like captions, I didn't use them because I wouldn't know what to say.  If you want them, just tell me what they should say.  There are nine photos, they can each have them or not but number them if you want them so I know which pics to put them on.  Also, pics can be rearranged, substituted or whatever.  Also, they had only a couple "blues" choices for music, but I can try something else if this seems "off" to you.  It literally only took minutes and I don't mind tweaking, so let me know!  And if you want better quality, you can send me the pics larger and I'll use those.

Hope you like it, and hope Jeff doesn't mind if he sees me giving his shows away!  (It's a CHARITY and she's not an agent, or I'd have her sold on these in a minute, Jeff!)

Sarah! That is so cool! Thank you! I love the music in the background as it reminds me of the documentary Big Mike has out called Iron City Blues. I bet the Wargo's would like something like this, I'll shoot you an email. The photo's were purrfect! If I had use for The Real Estate Show you can bet I would purchase it! Thank You again! :)

Lysa, this is awesome, just so neat.  I would have loved being a part of this.  Thanks, as always for sharing with us.  I know your sharing and not rubbing all this great fun in, right....LOL

Hi Bob! Nope, not rubbing anything in, just sharing our success. I'll try to get part 2 of the ride posted today. Maybe next year you and Cyndi can be a part of it, or start your own in IN? Have a great day!

Hi Monika! Thanks :) we really worked hard on this. The blog would be boring w/o photos I had to post them! Pictures say more then words and during an event like this the pictures say volumes to me.
