Moon River Makes Me Swoon (aka Pass Out, Thankfully)

Yes, I know. This is a very old song. Too bad! I am a very old lady.

And, yes I know that many, many people like it. They must because every once in a while (which seems like daily) I hear this song. (Please do not ask me what Rap station I am listening to.)

And, please do not ask me why I do not like this song. I have absolutely no idea why. Do I really need a reason?

Isn't it sufficient to say that I am a woman?

After all, a woman did not receive a majority of the votes to become the Democratic Presidential nominee.

On top of that the female Vice-Presidential nominee for the Republicans lost.

I wish to show that a woman can be a winner without even trying.

Therefore, without a reason other than I can not stand listening to that song (oh, and the fact that I want to win), I strongly request...no, demand that you Turn That Song Off*.

I am really afraid to delve too deeply into why I have these profound feelings about this song. It may not speak well of me.

It is only that I feel so safe on the Rain that I was able to expose this side of myself.

I wanted to share this with all of you.

Thanks for making me laugh Kate. I remember hearing Andy Williams sing that song on his show. Do you remember that? I always loved his voice and I have to say, I like the song. Makes me think of my mom. She's been gone almost 10 years now and I miss her more than anything. Really think you should play it on your site! :o)

I feel the same way about Happy Birthday. Every year that song comes up. Enough already. I especially hate the "how old are you" part.

Well, thank heavens someone is mentioning some old songs. I thought I was really out of it and OLD OLD when I see some of these blogs with songs I never heard of.

Woman are very special and important to us men! But I do know what you mean, there are some songs that just never sound good.

I remember the Andy Williams show too. I like the song ... reminds me of one of my favorite Audrey Hepburn movies "Breakfast at Tiffany's." It was the theme song. My mom, during one of her rebellious moments, decided my brother and I could sit through one of her movies for a change. I can see how hearing it too often would not be a good thing, Kate :)

Ok, Kate, I love the song--probably because my father did and it makes me think of him. My house was never quiet, there was always something playing from all different years--and I ended up loving almost ALL music. Besides, it's a CLASSIC :)

Kate - You are too funny. I don't think I've heard moon river in ages. It's one of those 'take it or leave it songs' for me.

Hey I agree, I'll take Moon Shadows over Moon River. Occasionally its fund to sing along when Blue Moon over Kentucky plays on the car radio. I guess there are lots of Moon sounds out there, LOL.

Do you have the Kanye West version of this? It is quite good...

I can't stand that song either. My second vote would be for "I Left my Heart in San Francisco".

Hi Taylor (Credit Trauma)...I simply cannot (will not) play that song here. I would have to go to the Trauma Unit at the hospital.

I have absolutely no idea why I feel the way I do, but I do. Maybe it just sounds like a downer to me.

Kate, now this is a very interesting observation about yourself. I wonder what it is about Moon River, a very soothing song which calms me and which I can play on the piano, that you don't like. It probably is linked to "something" in your past. Maybe you are just a rap station kind of gal ; )
