Elkhart Indiana and neighboring communities are pure white with snow today, yesterday and for the forseeable future.  It is beautiful, and has a calming quality about it.  Lookiing outside reminds me of the many colors of the world, when everything is mostly blah and white.  As I look out my home office window I see tree trunks in varying shades of brown and grey, even some white birches.  Rooftops are covered in snow and so is the antique red fire truck parked in the yard across the street.  But the red still shows up nicely.  Big big snowflakes are coming straight down, must be close to 32 degrees to get them so big.  Makes me want to go bake some Christmas Cookies or start on decorating the house and yard.

I have but one showing this afternoon and am wondering if I will be able to get there.  The plows haven't been by yet and the road looks about 2 or 3 inches deep.  The few cars driving by are going slowly.  I haven't seen the snowmobiles out yet though. 

I hope you are able, where you are, to take a few minutes to reflect on how fortunate we are.  Even now, with unemployement high, and bills to pay.  Life is a beautiful thing in Elkhart Indiana.
