Yes, the Real Estate industry is in desperate need of a bailout, along with millions of other Americans.

As a Real Estate Agent I can tell you what the economic situation is. I am only a few months away from completely running out of funds. The savings is dried up. My IRA is only worth 30% of what it was s few months ago. I can not even find a part time job to get through these rough times.

Here is a perfect illustration of what is happening all around the US. For the past two years we have seen sales fall 16%. To put this into figures: 100 x .84 = .84 x .84 = .70

For every 10 sales we used to have there are only 7 today. The average Real Estate Agent just took a 30% cut in sales. How many people can afford a 30% cut in pay? Not many.

But that is only half the story. The properties we are selling are selling for less money. What used to be $150,000 property is only selling for $105,000. A $130,000 property is selling for $100,000 or less. Not only are we selling 30% less properties, the sales commission is 30% less. .70 x .70 = .49

In reality we are making only about half the income we were making a few short years ago. Where is our bailout?

This is a perfect illustration of what is happening all over America. People that used to have jobs paying $16 to $20 an hour are now working in the service industry making $6 to $8 an hour. This is the result of trickle down economics.

And what about the poor? Those that used to have the $6 to $8 service industry jobs are now replaced by the middle class workers. As the middle class shrinks the poor are pushed completely out of the job market. As the middle class experiences income reductions of 50% the poor receive 100% reductions.

As all of this is occurring the government is giving billions of dollars away to a half dozen institutions to ensure the less than 100 members on the board of directors for these companies can afford multi-million dollars vacations in exclusive resorts not even located in the United States. Money that should be spent on creating jobs isn’t even helping those working in the service industry in our own country. What has happening and what is anyone doing about it?
