Dear Diary, 11/21/08 Is that snow?? East Goshen, PA

My husband Jack was walking through the bedroom today and astounded me by saying it was snowing! With that, I hear Max's feet hit the floor running... the kid lives for snow. He went straight to the computer to check out whether or not he had a snow day... Hope springs eternal in the young! Sadly for him and yippee for me, school was in session! Mom, where are my gloves... Mom, do you think we'll have early dismissal, Mom.. Mom.. Mom...

Seeing the snow through my puppy's eyes this morning brought a smile to my face. JJ has never seen snow and he was in puppy heaven! Clumps of snow were sticking out all over his little body. God, I love this dog.

Honestly, have you ever seen a cuter little face?

C Tann Starr recently posted, or commented that someone told her she needed to stop talking about her children so much. What? Our children, our pets, our spouses... these are the things I want to know about people. I don't want to read market reports, although I've posted a few.

I come to Active Rain to form relationships with other agents. Maybe the public is reading Active Rain, and I hope they are, but I'm here to meet other agents, to talk about our lives, to celebrate our successes and commiserate about our missteps. I think this kind of networking is invaluable. I'd love to meet a buyer or seller here, but I'd love it more to get a referral from someone here, another agent, who I have come to know and respect. To know that the feeling of respect is mutual.

Now that is social networking.

I've formed some very serious friendships here. I value them like I value all of my friendships. They make my life more pleasant, they make it for flavorful.

And, hey, if you don't want to hear about my little dog, or my two sons, or my husband and the red vacuum cleaner, oh well.

Great picture of your dog. My wife and I just brought home our 7 week old boxer puppy named George (after George Foreman the boxer of course).

Hi Integrity Mortgage Funding... George is a great name for a boxer! When I was growing up, the local gas station had a boxer named Charlie Brown. They used to always have a cap on his head... cute. I was call a box Ali, after my favorite boxer!

Good Morning Susan-I feel very much the same as you do about AR and the folks here and my family. JJ is definitely a cutie. There is only one cuter than him and that would be my wild child. Bubby. She has never seen snow yet. Maybe this year, as she is now a little over 2 yrs old.

I think the point of this whole thing is to talk about our lives, and I am sure that our children and pets are a large part of that.

Richard... Shadow is a doll! JJ hates the snow too, so I was a little trepedatious this morning, but he loved it! I thought I was going to have to go out and shovel a small patch of grass!

JJ is so sweet. You cannot stay mad at him for a minute! I wish I had pictures of my dogs playing in snow but I live in Texas. You can't blink if you see a flurry! I am with Max. I don't want to go to school today!

Mel, I don't know. I think I wouldn't mind some Texas sunshine and a few laughs out on your back deck, wine in hand. But JJ is a doll. He makes me smile, just looking at him... unless he's peeing, pooping or chewing on my USB cables... damn dog! Lol!

Kids, Dogs, Spouses, loving reading about it! Truly provides personal level insight as to who we actually are! Is JJ a Westie? Really adorable face on the pooch! We have a Westie and a Cairn. Great fun! Speaking of snow and kids, that's how I used to get my kids to jump out of bed, "Oh my god, look at the snow!" Worked for a while, until I used it once in June......

OMG...

I misread this at first, and thought that you said CTS told you to stop writing about pets and children and I though I has crossed over into some alternative universe! Glad I went back and clarified!

Great post! This is what it's all about...LIFE...!!! My 5 year old was kneeling alongside our two year old golden/lab mix...two 'blonds' gazing out the window at the first snow of winter...I rushed to get my camera to capture the event...I don't think I was fast enough!!! :) Thanks, Fran

Hi Scott, JJ is supposed to be a cockapoo, but he has really short stumpy legs, almost like a corgi. He's so sweet.

Hi Fran! You have to be fast with the camera! Yesterday, I tried to get a video of JJ greeting Max after school. They were too fast for me!

HOW cute!!! I remember when my dog first saw snow... Slowly put her paw in snow at first, not knowing what to expect, and then runing and playing in it like a little kid... Dogs are the BEST!

I cant believe you got snow and I did not! Bright blue skies here today with the occasional flurry, and I Am camping tonight and tomorrow night.. over night lows in the low 20's, I must be crazy!!!

What a face! How fun! Someone told C to stop talking so much about her kids? Shut up. That's what I want to see and read about. Pictures of kids, families, pets, stories about our lives, that is the interesting stuff. Thanks Susan for sharing & being you!

I have a beautiful red mixer... does that count? I LOVE reading this stuff and long for more kids to make snow angels with. As it is, I look a little odd to the neighbors out making them all by myself :)

Susan, those that know you well know about the red vacuum cleaner. Isn't this like a soap opera? Rare as snow is in our area, we get all excited like Max too at the first snowfall. JJ is just the cutest all dusted with the stuff. I like Pat's and Richard's pooch pictures as well. Life is much more than market reports. Of course you knew that about me already and that I TOTALLY agree.

Hi Gary!! Those who know me well will never, but never, buy me another vacuum that is not self-propelled!! I know you are much about life than about market reports.

Susan - Great Post - Your fur child is beautiful. We need to read about other things besides only Real Estate. Life would be boring if all you did was work and talk about work. I enjoy getting to know other people, and learn about their families.

Susan, What a gorgeous pup! My little guy LOVES the snow--more then I do, actually :) I happen to LIKE reading about people, pets, thoughts---everything. It's one of the best parts of AR--the people!

Oh and special thanks to my friend Carolyn Tann-Starr for giving me the Dear Diary post name idea. I saw her post this morning and thought that was a nice lead-in for a post. I think we should all do a dear diary, at least once a week.

I think that little JJ is just adorable and you can talk about him all you want. My Pug won't go out in the snow, she is not really fond of the cold weather or rain or Oh well you get the picture she is SPOILED ROTTEN and I think that she knows it. She does like banana Popsicles tho.

Susan, I enjoy reading your stories. I no longer have dogs, but you made me wonder about the look on my grand daughter's face as she touches her first snow. I hope her parents will capture those moments in pictures, since I will probably not be there.

If you or your dog..needs more flakes..I see our deck is full of them this morning....and mother nature has coated the pines with her big white brush...it is about each of us individually...agree or disagree....that is what makes the world and real estate go around...happy holidays.

I will read your doggie posts anytime. And for that matter Carolyn's kid post. I've come to adore JJ and her little minions. If someome doesn't want to read a personal post... they can just move on without comment. We're all people people, which is why we're in this business. I hope I get a little snow this year. It's been since 2002 since we had snow. 2003 we had an ice storm.

Can't complain in West Texas, we are in the 50's but dry! We won't see white this Christmas unless you count the cotton feilds!
