Mortgage and Lending with ASAP Mortgage

People never seem to amaze me.  I was picking up my kids from school today and overheard some parents talking. (They were 2 moms)  She says, I went to the bank today to see about a loan for a house, i'm so sick of renting.  Then says the guy at the bank asked how much i wanted to spend a month on a house, when I told him I was looking to spend about the same as my rent with is $650 he told me with taxes and insurance I could afford about a 60k house.

See killed me, I so wanted to say something but I didn't.  I got the feeling she thought she could afford a huge house with no payment!!!!!

Non homeowners often don't understand the expenses involved in ownership above the initial price.

Andrew,  Don't get upset... I would laugh it off.   First time home buyers don't understand.  Next time offer her your card and suggest maybe you can walk her through the process.

I would do the same that matthew suggested.  Offer her some help, maybe down the road you may get her business, or maybe in the short term you may get a referral out of her!

I appreciate your feelings in this and applaud the fact that you didn't try to offer her some 40 year higher interest rate + interest only payments, yadda yadda yadda....

If you believe in what you are doing. That you help people get what they really want.  And they will be better off with you than without you.....  Then hand them a card, apologize that you heard them ask for loan information and if they would like to talk.....

In my opinion its fine.
