Consumers - If you don't get a call back, don't assume you've been ignored!

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams NY Realty * Licensed Associate Broker

I received a phone call today from someone looking to perhaps relocate to my town and, inadvertently,
I deleted the phone call - instead of pressing the save button, I clicked on the delete button by mistake!

For some reason or other, the person's phone number did not register on my phone so I can't return the call.

I am feeling so guilty.  :-(

So, if you don't get a call back - please give the person the benefit of the doubt and either call them back or send a quick email.

Thank you - from a very sorry Realtor!

As always ~ Warm Regards . . .

Sandy this has happened to me.  Recently for some unknown reason my good mail was going to my junk mail and I missed an opportunity for a referral by 6 hours.  I did call the agent back and email him but I suppose he did not accept my apology since he never called back.

Oh, that's too bad, Jennifer.  I think that we have gotten so spoiled as a society that we expect immediate responses - but in the end, we are still dealing with humans and their limitations - namely, me and my delete finger!  LOL

I feel your pain and we have all had those moments when we just realized what we have done. I had one last year where I gave a pre-approved buyer's phone number away to another potential client by giving them my business card with the other person's information on the back.

Where is the time machine when we need it?

Todd - Ouch!  I hope you got that potential client's contact info and were able to get in touch with him/her.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sandy, you're not alone.  I had the same thing happen to me before.  And you're right, it's always good practice to follow up with a second call.

Hi Tracy, I'm relieved to see that I'm not the only one with a delete crazy finger.  I honestly don't know how it happened - I was literally thinking "save" when the delete button was hit!  :-/

Thanks for stopping by.

I did something similar 20 years ago. Since that time I don't delete emails or phone mails until Friday. I have "Backup Friday" which is when I clean up my voice mailbox and my email box, deleting those I don't need, and then backing up my computers to external hard drives. That way I can focus on the task at hand.
