Today is very cold here at the beach! (22 degrees) Winter is not officially here, but the frigid temperatures say otherwise. I am so grateful to live in a warm home, with a huge pot of homemade soup on the burner! Have spoken with my sister this morning from the other side of the state. All is good in her house as well. Aren't we blessed?! Just learned that my husband will traveling home for Christmas, hooray! What a nice Christmas present for me! His business requires that he spend most of his time out of the country.
My business is still pretty dismal, but I have time to stay in touch with friends, reach out to new folks, and think. I am thinking about where I can best use my gifts/skills. At the office and other places, folks are still singing the blues. I simply can't and won't listen to it anymore. Practicing gratitude is more pleasing, healthier, and productive. I don't even turn on the news or read the paper.
I would love to hear what the rest of you are doing to remain upbeat, keep afloat, and stay positive.
When I think too much of myself, turn my thoughts toward someone else. ....Anon, twentieth century, Japan(translation by Mary-Theresa McCarthy
Pursuing your hobby's and following your passions are what I consider to be most important when it seems the world around you is going to hell in a hand-basket.
I dont read, listen to or watch most news media because it's always bad!
I do enjoy Bill O'reilly on occasion though, as even when what he discusses is "bad" he does it with a positive outlook and optimism that is very refreshing!
