One of the practices as a successful real estate agent is keeping in touch with past clients and staying visible to future clients. Frequent communication throughout the year with customers is essential to further building those relationships.

With the holidays rapidly approaching, sending a thoughtful gift is a great way to let past, current, and future clients know that you are still in the game--and that they are your valued customers. This small gesture is also a fantastic way to further build your personal brand and to continue marketing yourself. It may be difficult to think of inexpensive gifts to set you apart from your competition, however, there are plenty of options...

I send holiday cards every year and so far I have had extra money to have a Christmas party for them.  This year, I don't know yet but my holiday cards are ready to be mailed.

I think that sending Christmas and holiday cards are one of the simplest things any agent can do.  I know of a few agents who drop off calenders or ornaments to all of their past clients.  The longer you've been doing real estate, the more time that would take, but what a great gesture!

I definitely agree that holiday cards (at a minimum) are a must--it's really easy and inexpensive to do.  I know some agents that send e-cards, but I prefer to go the old-fashioned route of mailing actual cards--it is much more personable and memorable.

Oh yeah...Angelia's Christmas party is a GREAT idea.  Another way to distinguish yourself from other agents and show your clients how much you appreciate their business!

Can anyone tell me how to respond directly to someone's comment?  I've only been on Active Rain for two days and haven't figured it out yet.  :)  Thanks.

I delivered small 14" live, potted & decorated "Christmas trees"  to all my local clients last year and they were a huge hit.  I think they were about $2 each!!   Many were going away for the holidays and hadn't set up a big tree so they were delighted. It isn't the amount spent but the thought behind it.

We send out Thanksgiving day cards to our past and current clients as well as family and friends. Not many people send out cards for Thanksgiving so they seem to really appreciate them.
