Active Rainers meet in New Hampshire

It's been a strange week for me in Hampstead New Hampshire.

On Wednesday our town buried a fallen solider and I witnessed "hate" first hand. Between the Virginia tragedy, our local tragedy and all the flooding we've had, this week has been pretty sad.

Sad except for yesterday. I spent the day at a New Hampshire Association of REALTORS mediation training. Even if I wasn't a mediator I would have taken this class as the negotiation skills that you learn in mediation also apply to real estate. The program was taught by Sheila Maloney, who is the Assistant Director for negotiation and mediation at Monika,Joan,Vickie and Joan W. Northwestern University School of Law, she was excellent. She kept us engaged all day long....and I for one could have stayed longer, she was that good!

But the icing on cake was that there were four Active Rain members attending the program and guess who had her camera ready...me :)

We had a blast talking about Blogging and Active Rain! What a nice group of ladies. Because we were so excited about playing in the Rain we were able to recruit a new member who got excited hearing us talk about blogging...so hopefully we'll be able to officially welcome Joey soon!

Earlier in the week I taught a class for the Concord Board of REALTORS and met another Active Rain member.

Sorry I had to leave early yesterday, Sheila was excellent and you just continue to amaze me!!!!

I took your advice and posted a Picture, did any of the pictures you took come out ok?

Looking forward to the next training session, I'm and education Junkie :)

I'm actually off for the weekend, my son is racing his first season in Go-Karts at Sugarhill Speedway in Weare, and as much as it makes me sick to watch, it's exciting and I wouldn't miss it for the world.

I will work on that Blog we discussed when I return.

How great is that Monika! The only AR member I have met in person has been Nick (and I think I'll see him tomorrow as well and will meet his wife) - I say "in person" because I feel like I know many here already, including you, of course. Can't wait for the day to goof off in person.

Monika, sounds like your week start bad, but thankfully it seems to have ended on a high note. I have to start carrying my camera around more, you never know when a great opportunity will come up to use it.

Maureen...The two Joan's are easy to confuse for sure. Another Monika spelled with a K is really a riot! Usually when I met a Monika it's spelled with a C.

This is pretty cool. I remember a time when you, Jay and Ann were the only AR Bloggers from N.H. on this site.

Monika, thanks for having you camera with you to capture an important AR moment. I think in the not too distant future, we will have to have an AR east coast gathering. As we could see from Jay's post -- we can do without the rain, however. I thought the course was great and I have been mediating since 1985 so I am not easily impressed. Looking forward to happier times and more blogs from you. Perhaps we can expand from Monikas and Joans to some other folks --
