Last night on my trip from Greenville, NC to Fayetteville, NC I saw the following prices of gasoline: In Greenville $1.79, I-95 $1.93 and in Fayetteville $1.65.

Great news to be sure, but we can not be lulled to sleep. OPEC and the oil speculators will eventually raise prices again.

For those in the real estate business the price of gasoline is a real issue as you spend so much time in your vehicles servicing your clients.

We must have an all of the above energy policy. Conservation, alternative energy development, clean coal, nuclear expansion, conversion of the transportation energy to compressed natural gas, mass transit, domestic oil and gas exploration wherever available and anything else needs to be part of a comprehensive energy policy.

You can let President-elect Obama know what you think by clicking here.

We are must get involved and let our voices be heard or we will deserve what we get.

Jay, I just paid $1.89 today in Apex,NC. I don't think the price has been that low in at least 3 years, maybe 4.

Isnt' it amazing that all of a sudden there's enough oil for all of us, and during the summer we were paying $4/ gallon because of a "shortage"?

It's about time for this country to get a REAL energy policy. Not one made up by a Texas oilman.

I agree that prices will definitely go up again.... as soon as the American public stops crying for more energy efficient cars, demanding more mileage per gallon, and has gotten complacent again.

Hi Jay,  Lowest gas prices since Nov of 2005 !  I just hope it doesn't deter us from a new energy policy !

Shhhhhhhhhhh!  Don't tell too many people, they'll start driving again and driving up the prices!  At least now we can afford to buy bread and milk.

Let our voices be heard. Contact the politicians or they will just go to sleep and next time it will be $5.00 per gallon. A real energy policy is needed indeed

If they raise prices again they will get the same result less driving. That says more to the oil companies!

I paid $1.95 here in Portland Oregon. I, too hope that we don't all get complacent. I know I continue to conserve. Earlier this year I was thinking of getting a Rick Shaw or a horse and buggy to take my clients in!

I paid 1.95 Wed and I thought that is gonna be it. Today, I saw a sign of 1.89.

From my point of view, this is not demand and supply at all.

Jubal--is a key and eventually we need to greatly decrease oil consumption, alternatives yes and also drill baby drill

Lynne--I've been thinking over the past few month of just how to conserve, like take my gym bag to work at stop at the gym on my way home rather than going home changing clothes and back to the gym. Propbably only saves about 4 miles, but every little bit helps

I don't quite know how to feel about the gas prices. Here in WA I am elated that we are sitting around 1.99 I fear however that this won't last too long. I can't remember the last time I was able to fill up my car for such low prices. It seems like it is too good to be true. Like I expect prices to sky rocket at any time. Keeping my fingers crossed though!!

Janaya-I'm afraid of increases too. That's why I'm so passionate about letting politicians know that after 30 years we want a comprehensive energy policy to end our addiction to foreign oil.

Keisha--let hope your wait is not for long

Jay - We are not down to $1.65 here in Jacksonville yet. I'm hoping it will come down to  $1.65 soon.

Robert--I hope for you it comes to that level and lower. I just hope we keep the pressure on to develop a real all of the above energy policy

Matthew-- In my lifetime I don't remember so much price disparity as we have witnessed the last few months

I saw $1.79 this morning in Orlando.  You are right.  It is just a matter of time before they go back up again.  We need a sensible energy policy.

Rob- Orlando has a ways to go, but I'm sure it is an improvement

Jeff and Lisa--WOW great news, the cheapest I've seen here is $1.41

Don't forget to let you elected officials know even though gas prices are down we still need a total energy policy
