Sesasons Change, People Change, Life Happens. Nothings stays the same: change is a given. Change means letting go, reflecting on the past and moving on.
Whether it's changing a residence, changing careers, changing in your personal life - change is important. It's healthy, constructive and worth while. It leads to innovation and improvement. Yet, many of us would also agree that we tend to keep the status quo because it's comfortable, known, easy and familiar.
Our cerebral baggage weighs us down during change. We need to remove this old data from our memory banks and free up space for more productive alternatives. Make room for the GOODSTUFF...the RIGHT STUFF!
So as we/I enter into this season of change...be strong enough to withstand the losses that you will incur when you make a big move, embrace them and celebrate the NEW BEGINNINGS!

There's a great little book about change called "Who Moved My Cheese". Really a fun little read that we used in my old company to help people understand the necessity of change.
Even though I don't think I am good at change, I try like heck to embrace it. I like new, just don't want to let go of the old. Makes for a messy desk sometimes.
Did I just notice that you are now a Long and Foster agent? I just noticed it on my subscription list. Good for you, I know they have great support for their agents.
Great Post, yes change can be good. If anyone hasn't read the book "Who moved my cheese" needs to read this book.
I pray that the next few months we will see a big change. We all need to be strong and pray for our President as he walks in and makes the changes.
Yvette, your post was what I needed I feel we get in that rut and we need the change. I hope you do moire posting on Active Rain. I look forward to reading your posting again. I didn't realize that there is so much good stuff on here and everyone needs to take advantage of the post.
Yvete, I recently went to a meeting where the topic was on marketing yourself. One of the things the speaker talked about was reinventing yourself...what is it about you that is different from all the other agents out there. She showed some slides of Madonna and all the different ways she has reinvented herself through out the years. I got a new haircut and joined Ar...I'm still working on some other new ideas.
Love your post Yvette! I started a home staging business about a year ago and keep praying that realtors here on the East Coast will begin to recognize the true value and benefits derived from hiring a staging professional to 'package' each and every one of their listings. Staging has been the norm on the West Coast for some time. I realize that it is a 'change' from the good old times when it was not a necessity to stage every listing-houses were selling themselves. With fewer buyers in the market for housing and more houses than ever on the market it pays to set your listings apart from the competition. You really hit the nail on the head with "our cerebral baggage weighs us down during change. We need to remove this old data from our memory banks and free up space for more productive alternatives. Make room for the GOOD STUFF...the RIGHT STUFF! This advice will serve our clients and ouselves well. Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season and prosperous new year Yvette!
Change is hard but it makes us confront our fears - it makes us step "outside the box". I'm trying a new Christmas campaign just to shake some things up. Our 12 Days of Christmas Inventory Reduction sale will generate business and it has given our sellers an opportunity to embrace some new creative ways of marketing. www.DebbieHenderson.com
