I was on Twitter when Thesa Chambers was talking about all the Eagles in her area. Then Ann Cummings asked a few questions, and poof there were 4 or 5 people talking about Eagles and Owls. Ann apparently hadn't seen a real Eagle, and asked if seeing a Seagull was close enough :) Well, as a Sunday morning would go, I decided that maybe with some glue we could add wing span, talons, and a beak to that poor seagull to make it into an Eagle. But Ann didn't seem to think there was enough glue.....there is the premise for today's Post. How do you turn something ordinary into something spectacular.

So many times we aren't satisfied with who we are or what we have. We want more, or better. I guess it's not all our fault, we are taught to want more, but when is it enough? Accepting what we have and who we are are the first steps to understanding. And understanding brings acceptance.
We can't be someone we're not, just as this Seagull can never be an Eagle. There is a place in this world for everything and everybody. Our experiences in life have made us who we are today, and that won't change just because we want it to. But we can change certain behaviors like our Attitude....this is about the only thing that can really change something ordinary into something extraordinary.
Thank you Ann for the Inspiration. As you said there isn't enough glue to transform a Seagull into an Eagle. But then again why would we want to? Both of these species are beautiful in their own way, and in their own environments, just as we are all special in our own ways.
As we are about to celebrate Thanksgiving, and start the Holiday Season let's all remember to show tolerance for those that are different from us, and to accept ourselves and our limitations. Let us all accept those in our families that might not be exactly as we want them to be :) Family or Friends......it all starts with us.
Now here aree my Monday Gifts:
Gift #1- If you don't know Ann Cummings let me introduce her. She is one of the nicest people here on Active Rain, with a great sense of humor. Ann is a licensed Broker in both Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and Maine with over 25 years experience. Her Blog Posts give you a great idea of her area with some wonderful photos also. But above that Ann is a valuable member of our Active Rain Family :)
Gift #2- Thesa Chambers is a Real Estate Broker in Oregon, and is the Photographer for this beautiful Eagle picture. She graciously put this photo into our Flickr Group, and I am ecstatic as it is a beautiful photo. How many times have any of us been this close to something this spectacular? And not only close, but just look at that Eagle taking off.....the power and beauty of this majestic specimen warms my soul. Thank you Thesa for sharing this with all of us.
