Fortville, Indiana is Still a Small Town Community

Living in the Indianapolis area does not mean it's all BIG city or nothing.  There's a small community called Water TowerFortville which is located to the east of Indianapolis.  This community is located in Hancock County and has been here for some time.  It was originally incorporated in September of 1865 with 240 people.  Statistics now reveal Population is (year 2000): 3,444. Estimated population in July 2005: 3,626.Through the 90's Fortville's population has grown by about 28%. It is estimated that in recent years Fortville's population has been growing at an annual rate of less than one percent.
