Myrtle Beach, SC

With the advent of Social Networking through sites like Active Rain, Myspace, Youtube, Twitter, Trulia, and Myrtle-Beach.com,  will the interconnections made on such sites be the end of traditional emailing.

Statistics indicate that there are over 400 million adults currently on Social Network sites.  Each of these are writing on walls, leaving comments and connecting outside of email channels.

We recently put up our Social Network at Myrtle-Beach.com.  It went live in beta on Friday night.  We now have 43 initial members that are joining groups,  putting up groups and beginning to connect.

Our intentions were to have tourists, locals, and Myrtle Beach businesses all connect here.  We'll see how this experiment turns out.

From the early indications,  it appears to me that my traditional email box is fuller now than it has ever been.  In fact,  my guess is networking on several sites will cause a greater flow of traditional emails, not less.

WHAT'S YOUR OPINION?  What has been your experience,  if you now belong to more than one social network?
