With early morning and overnight temperatures hovering in the low 20s here in Virginia, it's time to think about servicing your heat pump, furnace or fire place(s) if you have not already done so.

I know my fellow realtors up north have told their clients about this since the weather has already made its seasonal turn for the worse, but now that the cold air has caught up with us I want to make sure my clients and fellow area realtors are ready for the winter ahead.

It takes about an hour for a service technician to look over your heating unit(s), but that hour could save you a huge hassle later. Imagine another cold night and then - Boom! - the furnace or heat pump quits or sputters slowly out - not fun!

Hope everyone has a warm and safe Thanksgiving!
