All around me today it seems the world has checked out. Empty seems like company compared to the barren corridors in my office. Calls skate over to voicemail when I try to reach a lender, a broker, even a seller. Even people I love seem to be a little absent today. Where has everyone gone?

Well I’m giving my clients something to be thankful for as we slide into this Thanksgiving week holiday. I am answering my phone on the first ring. I am running errands to deliver docs so you don’t have to. I am previewing homes in outlying areas to make the most of your time. I’m making YOU – my valued clients – my number one priority.

Why? Because I am thankful for YOU!

I'm Thankful

It shows that you are grateful for your customers! I answered my calls on the first ring as well, unfortunately it didn't ring a whole lot. Aren't holiday weeks wonderful?

Jenn,

I was first taught in the business that there are deals that go on during the holidays. I didn't the first year but the second year I did and it happened. I'm usually always accessible..I've even negotiated a deal in my towel at the pool hotel. Of course we should be grateful.

Hi Jennifer - You're THE one!  There are always those really serious buyers who are out looking over holidays because that's the only time they have, and who's gonna get those calls?  Those who answer their phones, and I hope you get several!

Happy Thanksgiving,
Ann

Very nice Post.....I have made many sales in the past during the time everyone else seemed to have taken off.  Hope that phone brings just the right caller for you :)

Gary... You may be right about that. But my clients are around and they really appreciate the dedication - especially right now when everyone else isn't.

Nice job!  Yes, we need to stay focused and keep working - more this year than ever.  I spent the day delivering a few pop bys and previewing some new listings.  So you are not alone - although I am guessing you are right, there are not too many of us working.

But I do believer that those of us who work from now until the first of the year, we will be the ones who will have clients come the first of the year.

Good job!!

Ann... Awww.... thank you! I sure hope I am :) And I really hope I do get those calls. Each of us should get at least one to show that the business is there if WE are. I wish a bunch for you as well!

Geri... Staying focused is key and it's really challenging right now, but I feel certain it will pay off for everyoine who works hard for it. I intend to do just that! I know clients sincerely do appreciate it.

Seems like my office has been quiet all year.  It was certainly noticable as gas prices skyrocketed and most agents decided to just work from home, they just never came back and the whole social setting at the office sort of died.  As for answering the phone I have always done that and will continue but when it's quiet even I may be a bit lax about checking voicemail every hour or so.

My Jenn... It seems where I am the whole town is deserted.  Ordinarily, all the snow birds and families from up North migrate over for the Holidays, but this year it's eerily quiet everywhere...   If there is any life left where you are, and it sounds as if there is, your dedication will pay off. Cause you rock, and well, it has to.:-)

I guess I am not loved, because I didn't receive any phone calls from you today... I bet Mr. Sardi received a few...  and answer on the first ring?  Sounds like a test to me... ;o)

Dano... Yes, the office culture of real estate has certainly changed this year. That happy busy buzz is missing even when people are in the office. That's why it's important to have a couple crazy agents in every office to keep it interesting.

My Inna... There's a bit of life here, but less than I'd like to see. This is such a strange year and I hope we all stay strong and together so we can reminisce about what survivors we were one day. You rock too!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

Belonger... Yes you ARE loved! I didn't make the calls, I received them. Even the Sardi calls come from him 99% of the time. But I Do answer right away for everyone. At least I try, given the often less than wonderful signal from my beloved cell carrier.

Happy Thanksgiving my friend!
