Last week I had a really bad day.  I decided that for an attitude adjustment I needed to count my blessings by writing down all the things I have to be thankful for.  I filled an entire page before I realized that nowhere on my list was a single material thing that money can buy!  It was all about the people I love, and who love me, and who give me a reason to get up every morning.  I am so richly blessed!

To my family and friends, on this Thanksgiving I would like to thank YOU for being the meaning and purpose of my life. 

As I look back over a  difficult year, the one unexpected gift that I will always cherish is six months with my wild haired, dimpled, darling little Rileigh Janna under my roof!  Every morning at 8:00 sharp, the door to my office would open and there she would be, "Gamma Janna, I wake up HAPPY!"  Then we would go through our ritual: she would climb on my lap, help me type something, scroll through photos of HER on my computer, then dig through my desk drawers for things of interest to an almost 2 year old.  Once she found the stickers, and we put one on each hand, her nose and forehead, and then scratched her back, off she would dash for breakfast.  I will cherish those memories forever!

I am leaving in a few hours for Colorado. I will revel in the joy of spending Thanksgiving with all five of my children.  I will collect hugs from friends who will always hold a piece of my heart.  I have a new batch of stickers for Rileigh J, and I will have the honor of meeting my new little granddaughter Chloe for the first time. It just doesn't get any better than this! 

My Thanksgiving Wish for you all is that God will bless you as richly as he has blessed me, in the things that truly matter.
