Why doesn't the media understand the Law of Attraction?

By

I've been romping around in the Rain tonight and recently read Katerina's post:  Contest Time! Win With Your 20 Million Dollar Listing Presentation! Updated!

Two lines in that post really caught my attention. They beat to the heart of something I've been mulling for a few weeks now:

Remember, you must visualize and be prepared for your dreams to come true.
Before you can receive you must believe ...

Every time you listen to the news, listen to a talk radio show or pick up any newspaper, the news is all the same. Doom and Gloom.

Yesterday it was Meet the Press, this morning it was The Today Show.

The American people have lost confidence in their government.
The people have lost confidence in the economy.

It is a Buyer's Market.
Real estate prices have not bottomed out.
There are no jobs, don't bother to look for one. Companies are not hiring.
The economic down turn will last another 18 months.

Negative, negative, negative. Every media outlet in this country, every moderator in the land, the message seems to be the same.

How many times do you have to hear something before you believe it to be true?

The Law of Attraction at work on a grand scale!

Why does the media continue to tell us, the American people, we have no confidence? How do THEY know?

I do not believe the down turn of Wall Street represents the majority of the American people.

Why can't the media try spreading a little good news?

Why can't the media try visualizing a POSITIVE America?

Why can't they encourage POSITIVE thoughts for our country?

Why can't they have FAITH in the POWER of the American people?

Do they not understand, before we can RECEIVE we must BELIEVE?

We can send a man to the moon....

Debbie - I couldn't agree more. I've been away from the Internet and haven't been able to watch the news for the past week, and let me tell you -- it's been refreshing to be away from the doom and gloom.

Keep visualizing your dreams!

I have said for quite a long time that we need "News Your Way".  Here are the guidelines for this new concept:

For every item of "bad news", the media would be required to give us a piece of "good news".

Example:  the economic index fell by another point (bad news)

but the sales of alcohol has gone up again by two points (good news)

Another example:  the overall employment dropped by 2% (bad news)

but certain sectors of the work force have shown significant increases by as much as 30% - for example security guards, police, psychiatric facilities and funeral homes personnel (good news)

Jackie - Being away from the news for a week would be refreshing indeed! Give our minds a chance to think positive thoughts without interruption! Thanks for stopping by.

Mirela - Love your idea! Too bad it would be way too complicated for the main street media to grasp. Might create jobs - they'd have to hire someone to keep track!

I definitely agree.  I am tired of the doom and gloom outlooks.

Aw shucks Debbie.  We get lots of good news.  It's all from the NAR telling us that things are rosy.

The Best Spot Realty - If you find a source for positive news, please let me know! Thanks for stopping by.

Don- Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one trying to be positive. People look at me in the strangest ways when I take a pro-active spin on something. Do you receive a similar reaction?

Lenn-  Silly me, how could I have left NAR out of the mix? Probably because I'm still waiting for them to announce a bail out plan for Realtors. I am very disappointed they have not been more pro active in getting us our share of the loot.

Debbie, The media is out to report the bad news...it seems that's what sells.  And they love to frighten people.  I do wonder too if they understand The Law of Attraction but find that's not what has people reading and tuning in.

Debbie- Thanks for the link love you just gave me. And for reblogging the contest, thanks for your support. The media sells negative because it works, most people are drawn to drama and negatives. If this was not the case, the media would not do it. It is all about ratings. But you are so right, what you focus on expands.

Debbie,

I too have posted on this topic and agree with you 100%.  It seems tha the gloom and doom makes the headlines and is repeated 24/7......the good news gets the bottom of the TV screen headline that flies by so fast you can not even make it out.......CRAZY.

If you ever meet me, ask to see my key chain. You will see what I visualize as my next goal! I plan to reach a goal and my key chain reminds me what that goal is and I have a date on that. I have to reach my goal by that date, because it is already paid for. If I don't reach my goal, I don't go and I have to throw away money and I don't like doing that.

I visualize great things and great things happen! (7-3)

So true.  Your above mentioned of negativity is one of the reasons I try to limit my news viewing.  I am a true believe if you surround yourself around negative you become negative.  (Looking at the cup half full)!
