Eye on the Economy

Real Estate is local. But, economic indicators are all over the nation and prevalent in the national media and definitely in the minds of the client. It is important for Real Estate Professionals to keep their eye on the economy in order to be knowledgeable as they guide their clients with their real estate needs.

Below are some economic indicators to add to your tool box.

This is great information- thanks for providing it to us. I, too, think it's very important to stay on top of local as well as national stats associated with real estate.

I have a question about the numbers though- for mortgage loan applications the estimate says none. Does that mean no loan applications are being written or there are no estimates for that? I just had a client sign a loan this morning. I sure HOPE there are loan applications being taken!!

Thanks, but your first statement is dead on. Our area inventory is at a 14 year low. I repeat....a 14 year low. Mind you the buyers are at the same pace. Because of the real estate fall out, I have increased listings from 41 to 60 in the last 6 months. Thus, the area is dominated and market share is huge. So I am primed when consumer confidence comes back. Just hopefully it will come back fairly soon......as 60 listings gets a tad expensive.

I love down markets as it is the greatest opportunity to increase market share....if you can hang in there..........
