  • Tip #11 - Turn Your Phone Off!
I know you're expecting me to tell you some tip about real estate...which of course you would need a Real Estate Virtual Assistant for ;-)  But, no.  I'm not going to.  Instead, what I am going to tell you is that you should finish up your paperwork between now and Wednesday night...at which point you should turn off your phone.  Yep, turn it off.  That way people won't hear it ring, callers will know you must be busy because it goes straight to voice mail, and you will be free to be thankful for your family and friends that surround you this weekend.  I'm not saying ignore possible business...I know you don't have it in you.  Turn your phone on once in the morning, once at noon and once in the early evening...check your messages, return important calls...and then turn it right back off.  You will be amazed at how recharged you will feel after a weekend of being mostly disconnected.  This goes for email too...only check it 3 times a day over the holiday weekend...and then walk away.

Your family deserves your undivided attention...and you deserve your family.  Happy Thanksgiving, many blessings to you and yours!

OH - and if you find yourself so refreshed on Monday that you are ready to ramp up and start working with a Real Estate Virtual Assistant...well, if you've been reading these posts over the last few weeks, you know what to do!  LOL

  • Tipsy #11 - Hot Maine Mudslides
It's supposed to be on the cooler side and rainy here for the next few days, and with all the rush to get ready for Thanksgiving, I think we deserve to relax at the end of the day with family & friends with a nice hot cocktail.  I found this one in the Dec. / Jan. 2009 issue of Everyday With Rachael Ray...it's on pg. 153.  Look for a Dark Chocolate syrup (Hershey and Ghiradelli both make one) rather than just a plain old chocolate syrup.

    • 6 c. brewed coffee
    • 1 1/4 c. chocolate syrup
    • 1 c. Irish cream liqueur (Baileys)
    • 3/4 c. vodka (don't use cheap alcohol...your head will pay for it the next day!)
    • 1 1/2 c. sweetened whipped cream

Heat all ingredients in large saucepan, serve in clear glass coffee mugs and top with the whipped cream...and for a holiday touch...add crushed candy canes as garnish.

Great advise. We all need to make our family feel, and know that they are number one. No matter how busy we are they should know that everything we do we do for them-Dinah Lee

Christine - Probably should not turn the phone on until that Maine Mudslide wears off too!

Good advise, I would take it but this is how I keep in contact with family and friends so its probably how they are going to reach me.  I understand your point however and it is the right thing to do

Christine that is great advice.  After tonight, I'm only checking email for the reply to an offer I made today!  Happy Thanksgiving.

Excellant and thoughtful post. BTW, that Maine Mudslide sounds very tasty. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Dinah - Excellent point, Dinah...thank you for stopping by and commenting.

Norma - Yeah...never know what the effects of the Maine Mudslide will do to your phone demeanor, better safe than sorry!

David - You're correct, keeping in touch with friends and family is important too...perhaps you just put it on vibrate and don't answer it unless the number is recognized as a loved one.

Heather - Crossing my fingers for you that the reply comes back favorably for you!  Thanks for commenting!

Debbie - Make sure you try one over the weekend!  I think I will be out at the desert sipping them around a campfire Friday night.
