As a young girl I loved baseball..as a matter of fact..I wore a Phillies baseball cap and watched the game with my biological father..When Ritchie Allen was up to bat.. I would jump up and cross my fingers, stand by the t.v. and repeat over and over again..."Ritchie Allen hit a home run!"  Sometimes it worked...and as a kid..it was magic..when he hit the ball over the fence..I did it...I wished it and I really believed that.

While I never wore a game jersey or t-shirt..one thing I have to admit..we really tried to watch every game because if we didn't and they lost....automatically I would be the blame...after all I wouldn't be able to wish Ritchie Allen to hit a home run.  That was my child mind and the best memory I have with my biological father.

Today things are not that different I do have a few rituals but I haven't stood next to a t.v. and wished anything..because I have a different type of love...with my computer and more importantly blogging.

I can't say that I wear a game t-shirt but there is a ritual I have when I write a post..before I start anything..I look to my sidebar..and watch my geovisite globe go around with little neon lights that represents people reading my blog..for me it brings a warm fuzzy feeling...knowing its visible that I have visitors on my blog..and they have either read or are reading my blog as I write.

I usually twitter my blog posts..and love to watch the the globe light up..by watching that alone..I can determine if my title is catchy enough...

I miss my globe...

The globe reminds me why I write...it inspires me...to inspire others....to write..the best words inside me...I write more..the more readers that read...I even gauge blogging goals based on those lights..That globe means a lot to me....My globe is my game day t-shirt to my blog..and its been down for a few days...not sure if its an approved widget..

but I get the feeling its gone! gone! gone!

I had a hard time the very first day without it..I felt naked..and vulnerable and blogging didn't mean the same..as a matter of fact..these blog posts get harder to pump out..but since I miss my geoglobe so much..you got another post out of me.

Today it seems a bit easier but I must admit..I feel like I am missing something..as silly as it sounds..I miss my geoglobe..my game day Widget and Ritual! I did manage to place the map on my sidebar..but I can tell you its not the same!

How about you?  Do you have a ritual, jersey or t-shirt that you wear on game day? And if so..how would you feel if someone spilled black ink or burned a hole in your game day..Jersey or T-Shirt?

No game day ritual here. I am just thankful that as a sports town Boston is awesome. Who can complain when the Pats, Redsox, and Celts are all winning championships. Heck even in the years lately they haven't won they have at least made it to the last round:)

....Of course I do Michigan Wolverines, even when we have a terrible season, I am still a loyal fan. Yea, there is stuff messed up but it will eventually get fixed.

Hi Midori:

Absolutely!  Since it's football season, I'll give you my seasonal answer...

It's my number 4 BRETT FAVRE NEW YORK JETS JERSEY.

Actually, I have a ton of JETS stuff.  J-E-T-S...JETS-JETS-JETS!!!

Well, the answer your second question, if it got ruined; at this point I would buy another since they are easy to get right now....

Hmmm, maybe I'll ask for one for Christmas!!!

Enjoy the holidays,

No special rituals - except making sure the snacks are ready, remote works, and no one bothers me! Maybe that is a ritual?

Ritchie Allen....Now that's a story for me! My Dad took me to Connie Mack to watch the Phils back in 1969 I think. Ritchie was my favorite player. This would be his last season as a Phillie. When he came up to bat, there was the typical Philly round of boos that cascaded down from the bleachers. A tear must have came to my eye that was seen by the hot dog vendor in the aisle. He put his box down and started to cheer, motioning me to get up and do the same. I did, so did my Dad. I think we were the only 3 cheering, until Richie hit one over the Shaffer sign in left center field for a homer. 3 years later he was the American League MVP with the White Sox. Typical Philadelphia stuff ever since.

As for me and ruituals, Jersey matching the home or away colors for every Eagles game. Heck, I even have a Mike Quick jersey from when I was in college! Still fits!  Sorry so long! Have a great holiday!

Midori - I wear my talisman everyday.  Its a little silver charm of a winged pig.  You've probably heard the saying "when pigs fly".  Well nothing is impossible, because my pig has wings and it can fly!
