International Real Estate- It's A Small World After All

The first time I ever went to Disneyland in California was when I was 13 years old. This was back in the day when you still used ticket books for the rides. Does anyone remember those?

One of the rides that did not take many tickets was; It's A Small World After All. I fell in love with that ride. When I had all my children I brought them back to Disneyland and the Small World ride quickly became a couple of my children's favorite ride as well. Now we do the Disneyworld thing- we only live about 2 to  3 hours away from Disneyworld. Needless to say it is one of my favorite places in the world.

Perhaps it was my living in Europe for 4 years and having learned to speak different languages ( I forgot most of them, so don't ask:) ) that ignites my passion of culture and language. I love to learn about  people of different backgrounds and cultures. As a teen I was a  model and actress and lived in my paradise, Hawaii for 5 years. Hawaii is my absolute favorite place I ever lived in my life and I have lived in many places. When I lived in Hawaii, I traveled to Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea and the Philippines. I learned to speak Japanese and Tagalog, and yet again, forgot most all of these languages too.

I have lived in Florida the longest out of  any place. My domiciles in the United States included California, Hawaii, Utah, Washington, Oregon and Florida.

The culmination of my experience has a lot to do with where my family came from. I am a first generation born American in my mother's side of the family who are all from Latvia. My mother instilled a love of our heritage into all of her children. You can read my tribute to my mother here.

So today when a developer from Costa Rica called us to see if we would be interested in representing his development here in Florida it came as no surprise that although I have not been to Costa Rica we certainly know how to work with people from different countries, customs and cultures. This developer experienced a sense of comfort from us. We will appreciate the customs and rules of doing business with buyers and sellers in International real estate.

International Real estate investing

You can learn more about International Real Estate networking here on this featured post.
We have developed over the years some great connections with agents and real estate consultants and developer from around the world. That is why we named our company; International Properties and Investments Inc.  It is just as much about the experience as it is the passion of culture and travel wherein our name fits so well with our business plan.

Currently we are putting together the marketing for a project in France, one in Costa Rica and another one in Mexico.

We will be marketing to Americans and Canadians who are investing internationally or retiring to Costa Rica and Mexico.

With doing so much marketing online the world is getting much, much smaller. The future of real estate will recognize no borders and the vision of It's A Small World After All will be a reality.

Katerina, you will be a natural at International Real Estate as a niche with your tremendous culturally diverse background. Good luck with working the small world. I liked that exhibit too from the Orlando Disneyworld but the song does wear on you by the time you leave the exhibit : )

Nestor & Katerina,

Yes! I do remember that ride! (and the ticket booths) I think I still have the 45 in a closet somewhere. We have a lot in common; I, too have forgotten Tagalog, Guamanian, Japanese, French, and Inupiaq. (use it or lose it, right?) Thank you for reminding me of that trip to Disneyland when I was young.

Wonderfully said about Disney. this is really a wonderful world, and I am not surprised kids enjoy it. i always suspected that this is not for the kids, but for us, and we use kids as a pretext to go there and enjoy going to the time in our life when the trees were so tall.

Gary- Thanks. We had a listing in Belize, one in Equador and we own land in Latvia. We also have the CIPS designation. We were out of the International Scene for 3 years during our land development days. Now we are getting back into the International scene again.

Kat - we've added Costa Rica to our represented properties as well - went down in August to check things out, and will be returning with clients in January and February.

Another wonderful thing about international clients is visiting them all over the world!

Beautiful vision Katerina and so true.  I  met  a guy earlier this year, about 26 years old who chose to first invest in Costa Rica before the U.S.  When your eyes are open, the possibilities are endless.

BTW- It's a small world is a family favorie Disney Experience in this household and my mom's as well.

Katerina - when I read this, what came to mind was "Real Estate Without Borders" like "Doctors Without Borders" that is so popular in Europe. I can't remember the words in French. It's not totally analogous because that is a charity, but it's kind of catchy isn't it?

Nice post. I have been to Costa Rica twice and totally loved it. I recomend going during the "wet season" as the dust is horrendous during the "dry season".

Pura Vida!!
