Agent Photos

By
Real Estate Agent with Weichert Realtors, The 505 Group

It is always fun to look at agent photos and wonder what these agents were thinking. This is the face that you use in advertising, the face you put out there to the world that says "Buy it from me", "Trust me," "put your life in my hands for the next month while I guide you through one of the most traumatic experiences of your life."

We just had the joy of getting all of our agents photos taken. this was after fighting with our photos for years, trying to get matching backgrounds, cutting and pasting old faces over new backgrounds, etc. So we bit the photographer, I mean bullet, and called a proffessional.

Now that it is done and he has been paid I wish I had chosen an outside shot for less formality, because that is me, but they do look better.

A funny thing he did was change my eye color. He thought it would be nice to make my eyes greener and erase all of the lines on my face and couldnt understand that I want my clients to recognize me, even if my picture isnt as pretty. So we had to take out the eye lights and add in some under eye bags again but I think it all worked out allright.

Poses: Its funny what different poses say to people. Looking out of the corner of your eye makes it hard for me to want to trust you. I think I look a little too timid in my new shot but I am going to have to sell some more houses before I take some more.

What does your photo say about you?

One thing that amazes me is that so many agents have loaded up pictures that load way to slow. High rez photo's don't work so well. Lower the DPI before you upload. I never saw your old picture this one is nice. You are so right about pictures though, sometimes you just have to wonder.

I hope that mine looks friendly and professional.  That's my intention.

It seems like the lighting was a little dark on your picture. What about this? Did I go overboard and brighten it too much?

Christine, yours comes across just that way, friendly and proffessional. Very nice!

I kept telling the photographer I didnt want my head cocked to the side, we settled for a little in between on the new one.

Nice photo. Randy's is no comparison, it is all wrong. Not just light (overexposed, but look at those washed out spots on the cheeks, forehead. It is also very grainy. It is more than going overboard, it is killing it completely.

That's what the photos should not be (LOL)

I think professionals know what they are doing.

Katharine, I know what you mean. Not all photographers are worth their weight. Fortunately, our Weichert photographer in NJ is amazing! His name is Richard Krauss. In fact, he just took my new photo (see my profile pic). I've gotten countless compliments on it. Regardless, you're still an attractive lady, so all is not lost. Btw, I love your last name.

Who You Work With Matters!

I have seen agent photos where the tint was so bad that they looked pink.  I am relatively happy with my photo but also wish that I took the photo outside.  So much more approachable then a stuffy studio shot.  My next photo will definitely be an outside shot.

Thanks! I thought it was my husbands nickname when I met him, lol. I love it.

randy's above, was my old picture, We had a lady come into the office and use the light from the window. I liked the expression in that one but the quality wasnt there for advertising.

Whats kind of funny though is those agents that use photos from about 30 years ago and never update them. What is that saying to your customer? Trust me? I think honesty is important even if it shows your flaws.

This chat box wont let me upload photos into it. i click on the tree and it just gives me a blank box. Probably a popup blocker or something I have I guess.

Hope you all have a nice thanksgiving!

Kari,

I agree. I am going to go get an outside shot for use in my personal advertising soon. We had to have the stuffy ones for the office wall photos, but my next one will be in the trees I think. Hard to be natural with 50 lights in your face!

I just had mine professionally taken. I am in the process of updating it everywhere. Unfortunately I have lots of cards with my old photo on them.
