President-elect Obama speaking our language...

I can't sleep. I'm a little wired after spending most of the day setting up a new computer network so I've been sitting here surfing around the internet. Imagine my surprise and joy at seeing this quote from president-elect Obama:

"The president-elect said he plans to sit down with the chief usher for the presidential mansion and do an evaluation of its energy efficiency. "Part of what I want to do is to show the American people that it's not that hard," Obama said.

Asked whether he'll be tiptoeing around at night, turning off the lights, Obama said he isn't going to be obsessive about it. "But I do that in my current house," he added, "and there's no reason why I wouldn't do it in my next one."

Amen to that! He is walking the walk and talking the talk already. Glad to hear he understands that energy conservation is the key.

Well said, Bruce!  Expectations I know are very high for our new leader, but he truly seems intent on "making sense"...from a variety of perspectives.  I used to train fair housing for my board and when discussing our protected classes, I would often say "just remember, in real estate, the only color we see is 'green'" ... obviously that was just a bit "tongue in cheek".  However, today, it has a whole new meaning.  And now, with the indications that we'll have leadership committed to responsible stewardship of our environment, looks like we may finally make some serious changes!!!

Thank you for bringing up this important subject!

Thanks Judi. It's fun to imagine Obama and Michelle walking around the White House at 11:34 pm after watching the Daily Show, turning off the lights, checking the thermostat, etc.  lol...
