Happy Thanksgiving from Charlotte NC

Give ThanksA North American tradition, established by the Plymouth Colonists and the Wampanoag Indians, Thanksgiving is the time of year that we all reflect upon our blessings.  The Colonists and Native American Indians joined to celebrate and cooperate their harvest and to give thanks for the bounty of crops.  The creation of this tradition is one which I'm very thankful for personally.  Our families unite and those who aren't able to be together phone one another (or now, email!).  It's a time to celebrate the culmination of our blessings each year.

Even in difficult economic times, we have so much in which to give thanks.  While you're remembering your own family this year in your blessings, pray for those who have less than you as well.  Remember them as you begin your holiday shopping by picking up a little something extra to donate to the shelters.

Homelessness

While you're feasting upon YOUR bounty, unite once again as a family and make the decision to adopt a family.
Adopting a family is SUCH a wonderful project for a family to undertake and I think you'll find that there's more 'reward' in family adoption than you can imagine!

Contact your local shelters or a local social worker or even a home care facility and they can assist you in finding a family to adopt.  Believe me, you'll be glad you did!

Bless you and yours this Thanksgiving day.

Debe ~ I think it will be hard not to think about families in need this year while having our dinners. Thank you for bringing the subject of adopting a family up here in your post. It is a great idea and hopefully many of us will follow through and reach out to those who need it most.

Have a terrific day.

Thanks James--and we DO, right?!  I hope you and yours have a wonderful day!

Hi Terrie:  We've adopted a family for several years and it is SOOOO rewarding--it was also a great lesson for our boys when they were little--they actually had more fun buying for the adopted family than their own!  You have a great day as well!

Hey Sally!  You're one of those folks who just MAKE this place the 'home' that it is!  Thank YOU for being you and being a bright spot in so many member's day!  Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Hey Linda!  I hope you enjoy your day also and I'll be sure to give them all hugs from my best AR buddy!  Happy T-day once again!!

Debe,

This is the time of year that we need to be remembering others.  There are more than double the number of families going to food pantries than last year.  What a great reminder.

I hope that you and your family have a wonderful day today.

Celebrating what God has given to us is a GREAT way to let Him know we love Him....

After all it is because of HIM we are in existance anyway.....

To God be the glory, GREAT things He has done!!

Hi Russell!  I hope you and yours had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  The run, meal, then football sounds like the old traditional--seems we should do the run AFTER the meal though, doesn't it?!

Hi Gary!  Sorry I missed you yesterday but, I hope your run went well and that you and yours had a blessed Thanksgiving!

Hey Don!  Yes, we had a wonderful day and I hope you did as well!  We decided on the family adoption yesterday with our friends who we celebrated Thanksgiving and we are all so excited about it!  To me, it means more than any gift received!

GBU Alexander!  You are SO right!  We are all TRULY blessed!

Hi Pat!  I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving also!

Hi Carl!  I did have a beautiful day yesterday and hope you did the same!  We do have SOO much to be Thankful for!

Hey Elizabeth!  I received an email yesterday from another agent who was letting me know that we have an agent 'peer' who is losing their home due to this market.  It really is a trying time for so many and, like you, my heart breaks for them.  We DID have a fabulous day and I hope you did as well!  GBU2!  I'd like to say that I count you in my blessings as well because I am thankful for haing met you--YOU are a very special person and I am so fortunate to know you too!
