Thanksgiving Fun!

This is a 5th grade math problem. This is not a trick question (so don't say that a bus doesn't have legs). This is a real math problem and everything you need to answer it is in the following:

There are 7 girls in a bus.

Each girl has 7 backpacks.

In each backpack, there are 7 big cats.

For every big cat there are 7 little cats.

Question: How many legs are there in the bus?

Please send your responses to dhensling@uamco.com

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

All I can ask is how those little seven year old girls are strong enough to carry backpacks large enough to carry all those cats and kittens!

That is my final answer :)

I am afraid to answer. I do not want to get a 5th grade math problem wrong!-Are there 9,611 legs on the bus not counting the bus driver?

Lisa, you have a point. Someone should say something. I have heard todays kids are carring around too much in their backpacks and hurting their backs. This is a perfect example. I  am calling DateLine,LOL Dinah Lee

I hope all those cats have homes and that the bus is not heading to the animal shelter!!!

LOL Dinah.  This was actually a big news story at one of our local high schools in a prominent wealthy town a few years ago.  There were complaints and hearings and articles in the newspapers for months about teachers giving too much homework and kids straining their backs with their heavy backpacks!

Oh, by the way - my official answer without making my head crack open from too much strain is 2,758 legs not including the bus driver.

I hope it isn't a trick question. I figure around 72 legs including the bus driver.  Happy Thanksgiving
