I had no desire to go shopping on Black Friday, so today was a day to work from home and avoid the traffic and the crowds. Tonight, I finally bit the bullet and signed up for Twitter. I am still trying to figure it all out, I will have to read some of the Active Rain blogs for tips. You can follow me on Twitter by clicking here.

Now lets see if this blog goes out to Twitter, if I set it up right.

Rich welcome to twitter.

I just posted on the topic of twitter vs blogging and linked to an article you might find of interest

To Tweet or Blog Active Drizzle anyone?

I suspect it will be a long time before I Twitter. I'm quite happy Playing in the Rain and don't want to spread myself too thin.

Rich, I'll be interested in how you like Twitter.  I haven't quite gotten up the gumption to go on yet.  I can't figure out the usefulness of it and/or how to keep up with it if I'm "following" lots of people or if lots of people end of "following" me.  I have 250 "friends" on Facebook and , God as my witness, I may know about 50 of them.

Of course, not everyone keeps up and/or does updates, but still...

Twitter can be useful if you don't get sucked in and use it to broad cast every hour of your life

Well, I am still trying to integrate it all together.

Hi Rich, Well, you just don't know what you are missing-not having gone shopping on Black Friday - think of all the deals you didn't get, and think of all the rude people you didn't have to encounter -LOL.  Good for you for getting set up on Twitter.  That's something I still need to do.  Take care!

Let me know if you think Twitter is at all useful. I had a reasonably signficant presence on Twitter (wexzilla) and found it a colossal waste of time , unless of course you think it fun, then its worth it

Well, I was out with my son and grandbaby on Black Friday - we bought some groceries at ALDI (always great to get some good old German items at reasonable prices) and did some window shopping - we spent an hour in the mall, just looking - by the time we were done it was nap time for the little one -

I am on Twitter but question its usefulness - I don't spend much time there -

I haven't done Twitter yet. I still haven't done Localism, or Facebook, or Myspace, or Merchant Circle, or Linked In. Heck, if I joined all those things, I wouldn't have time to work. I'm still learning Active Rain. LOL

Cool, so have you decided what you think about it?

I am a AR newbie and keep hearing all this Twitter!

Should I jump in there too?

So far, the jury is out. My AR blog postings get sent to Twitter, that part is working. I have some people following me, with somewhat vague profiles such as "real estate rock star" as a descriptor. I haven't seen a compelling reason to spend a lot of time on it so far.

Rich, I have added the twitter twirl and I guess that helps but I'm with you I still don't see the benefit.  I still feel like I'm watching someone else's conversations.

Rich, what do you think of Twitter now? I've had the opportunity to see some of the fun side to it.

So far, the majority of people following me are people who appear to be trying to sell me something.
