Friday was a long day for me. My office printer bought the farm last week. Right in the middle of printing a contract no less. I had to email it to another computer in the office and print it on another printer. But there were some great "Black Friday" sales prices on printers, so I was up at 4 a.m. Thankfully the rush into the store wasn't on printers and I was in and out in a jiffy.
I actually was back in bed by 6 a.m. The store was just a few miles from my house, the lines were quick and everything went smooth.
Then I was up again around 7:30 because I had floor duty at the office. I spent most of the morning, deleting the old printer software from the computer, hooking up and installing the new one and then playing around to see how it worked. It's one of those all in one numbers and it took me a minute or two to get the hang of it.
I didn't think I would be busy, but I did get a customer than is considering listing. So right after work I headed over to check out this house. The house is solid, but old. The lot is amazing. The view is fantastic and the size of this lot is pretty much unheard of on Lake Sinclair. It's around 400 feet of shoreline on the main part of the lake and also over 3 acres.
Driving down the drive is like "through the woods to grandma's house".
By the time I got home the rain had started... just the mist. I got dinner and then started baking for my father's side family Thanksgiving get together we had today. I baked 24 carrot cupcakes, made brownies and then got ready to make two more pecan pies and realized I had used the last of my Karo syrup, so after 9 p.m. I headed to the grocery store.
Chatting with my daughter on the cell phone I was also asked to make "grape salad" It's yummy. So I ran in got the syrup, grapes, sour cream, cream cheese, more pecans, and headed home. I was nearly home when it dawned on me that I actually didn't have any more frozen pie crusts. Argggg!
I was NOT going back to the store. So I got home and started on the crusts first. May I say they both turned out amazing. Both pecan pies were a success today. The grape salad was also a smash hit.
It was around 2 a.m. when I finally closed my eyes this morning. Then I was up again early to frost the cupcakes, mix the grape salad and get on the road to Warrenton, GA where my Aunt and Uncle live.
So Black Friday was busy busy busy friday for me. And I just heard on the news that sales in retail stores were up 5% over last years.
I see more busy busy busy ahead.
