The market is an interesting one. I would like to learn more about what people in the industry are doing differently. I believe it is key for us all to learn from others.

I have started doing more reading. I have done much less on-line with active rain. I have started doing annual mortgage reviews with my past clients. I have worked a great deal with Linked in and used it as a tool to help others through my human capital to reach their goals.

I believe that we all must try different things. One way to find out about different steps that others are doing is to simply ask. So that is what I am doing I am asking!!!

My hope is that 1000 of you you will provide me comments on these questions. The reality is this would be less then 1% of the members.

So I look forward to the comments.

Hi Ed. This year I have continued to focus on helping others. There is a quote I read a little while back that I guess kind of sums it up for me "The thing about helping others is that no person can help another without invariably helping themselves." In the last 88 days... I guess I have focused a little more on planning for 09 and making sure my systems are up and running for what is going to be a great year! Hope you get to 1000!

In the past 88 days... Not sure I can narrow down what I have done differently in that time, but I'll tell you what my focus has been.

I have certainly blogged MORE.  Because of this, my name appears towards the top (if not at the top) of the following searches in Google (Frisco Texas Mortgage, Frisco Texas Refinance, Frisco Texas Home Loan(s))  You will find my AR page towards the top or my 'WannaNetwork' page.  Either way, my focus was on being 'found' in the market place.  However, that is not enough because that is assume many people are looking within Frisco Texas.

My other goal was focused around working with more Realtors.  In the past, I had focused solely on refinances but would do the occasional purchase.  I'm looking to move that to 80% purchase and 20% refi.  I'm working on building a strong following to my blog by promoting it to previous clients and potential customers (people I spoke with, but have not pulled the trigger yet).  This will keep me in their eyes.

My focus for the next 90 days...  Attract at least 3 more Realtors to work with on a consistent basis.  Change the formatting of my monthly newsletter.  Increase my SEO for my Mortgage Website.  Change the verbiage of my home page on AR, Mortgage Website, and additional blog posts on my outside blog.  :-)

With all due respect.. (plus Im trying to help with your comment count) I don't think Luck has anything to do with it.  In this profession, you don't want to be lucky.  You must have a goal in mind and always be working towards that goal.  Start with small steps and work your way up.  Many people hope to get lucky in this business which is why they are no longer around.  I may not be as Rich as I would like to be, but my personal life could not be better.  I live very comfortably and have a fantastic family.  If I made a ton more money, I would just waste it... well, not that I am older I would probably save more of it for the kids.  As long as they are taken care of, we are doing our job.  See you at the top.
