Thanks to my good friend Don Rogers, I was tagged for the bookworm MeMe a few weeks ago. However, a few sick kids, work, my own case of the flu and the Thanksgiving holiday put my MeMe on the back burner. Tonight, it's a little chilly here in Missouri and I debated: read my latest book or play work on the computer. Ah, the MeMe will allow me to do both, at least for a little while!

The task at hand:

  1. Grab the nearest book
  2. Open the book to page 56
  3. Find the fifth sentence
  4. Post the text of the next two to five sentences
  5. Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book or the intellectual one. Pick the Closest.
  6. Do not use the Bible

I read something every night before bed. Sometimes a "foo foo" book, sometimes business related, sometimes I only make a magazine article if I'm tired. I had picked up this book a few months back. I dug picked it out of my reading stack last week after writing a post on the Law of Attraction and the Media.

My current read: Sacred Secrets: Finding Your Way to Joy, Peace and Prosperity
Sacred Secrets
From page 56, the fifth sentence, and a few more:

"When we think we do not have enough, it is time to start giving.
We can give of our time. Give of our talent and energy. Give of our financial resources.
As we demonstrate faith in giving, the universe will respond in kind. Give gratitude and love, not with doubt, dread or sacrifice."

This book is made up of 35 essays from various writers, teachers, and ministers. It is designed to take the blockbuster bestseller, The Secret, one step further.

Debbie -

What a great passage!  My guess is, if that's what pops up with the "random" selection of the page 56, paragraph 5, the rest of the book should be on our "must read" list!  Great quotes!

By the way, I thought part of that bookword MeMe was that, once you'd been tagged and passed on your passage, YOU were supposed to tag 5 others.  Is that wrong????

Thanks Judi - this is an awesome book; highly recommend it.

And yes, part of the "rules" tell me to tag 5 more people. I thought I was late getting in this game, I would skip that step. But now that you mention it... have you done your Book MeMe?

LOL!  No, Debbie.  As a matter of fact, until yesterday I'd never even heard of MeMe!  Had to google it to find out what it was (can't say I understand it yet), but while I was on AR yesterday I did get some exposure to the Bookworm MeMe....yours was one of them that I spotted.  So no, I've not done one.  Are you going to "tag" me...belated or otherwise?  If you are, I'll bite.
