The Olde Town Swing Band

Louisville Center for the Arts
801 Grant Avenue
$12.00 adults/$6 seniors/youth under 15

The Olde Town Swing Band features Rob Dando, Kit Simon and Drew Horton. Whether it's a hot jazzy number or a smooth dreamy ballad, Kit's prowess and sensibility on the vintage archtop guitar is just the ticket. A fine vocalist, his lead and harmony vocals add a smooth touch to the band's sound. Kit makes his home right here in Old Town Louisville.  Another long time Old Town Louisville resident who now lives in Westcliff, mandolin virtuoso Drew Horton was the 2001 Walnut Valley Bluegrass Festival National Mandolin Champion. He'll have plenty of  hot licks to warm up a cold winter's eve! Last, but not least, Rob Dando holds down the low end and sets the groove on stand-up bass.

LAA thanks Caffe Sanora for serving their premium Arabica coffee, with more antioxidants than most green teas!

Bob Schlesinger is a pianist and composer whose work covers diverse styles that include jazz, blues, R&B and classical. Pre-schoolers love Little Willy Worm, the Bookworm, as he narrates "Jack and the Beanstalk" with help of a full-stage marionette puppet production. Kids love to participate and they'll also meet Pansy, a lovable baby chimpanzee and see a drawing that comes to life right before their eyes. Mark Hellerstein, an Award Winning Ventriloquist, has been performing for over 40 years. His love of kids is clear as he combines audience participation, melodrama, comedy, surprise and variety into his fast-paced programs.
