The Market is Slow ONLY IF YOU READ THE PAPERS!!!

Here I am, a mere Realtor in the Pascack Valley, doing what I love most, to help my clients buy and sell Real Estate.  If I ignored the news, I would be fine.  I just listed a beautiful ranch in River Vale, put in an offer on a new constuction, received an offer on one of my beautiful listings in Woodcliff Lake, and am negotiating an offer on a listing I have in River Vale, and I have two offers on a listing I have in Westwood.  BUT WAIT..The Real Estate market is supposed to be at a crawl..I must be dreaming..

Is it true that mortgage rates on a 30 year fixed are now at 5.5%?? (When I bought my first home, we financed at 13.25%, and then kicked our heels when we were able to refinance at 9.25%).

So, what comes first, the chicken or the egg?  If everyone reads about doom and gloom, then PERCEPTION BECOMES REALITY, and the Perception becomes that the REal Estate Market must be bad if the written word says so.  OK..this written word is saying that the market is indeed softer than last year, but that said, I have sold 50 units this year (2008), which means that 100 buyers and sellers moved with me this year..I am only one of numerous Realtors in the Pascack Valley..so indeed, homes are selling. My Sellers are off either moving up to another home or downsizing,,,but their homes are sold and they are indeed moving.  This obviously means that homes are SELLING..And smart Sellers understand this!

The Pascack Valley is alive and well..and home prices are so VERY DESIRABLE!!  We are now down at 2004 prices, and the Buyers who have figured out what deals are out there are winning BIG TIME.

Remember, the only way you will know that the market has hit bottom is when it is on it's way up and you have missed the deal of the decade!!
