Short sales are a way of life in Michigan. If an agent is unwilling to embrace the short sale in his or her business, they are missing out on a large part of their potential business.
Short sales listings are well over half of all of my listings since January 2008. Presently, I have three short sales in process. I have had one that was in process for seven months and never did close. That particular short sale was with Indy Mac Bank (need I say more) and the bank was so out of touch and didn't even care.
If there is one underlying feeling I get when working with all of thse banks is that none of them care. I have had a short sale offer sitting on the negotiator's desk for six weeks with no movement. By the time the bank finally decided to accept the offer, the buyer's had decided to put an offer in on another home.
