If there is one thing I can appreciate it is good Cajun and Creole food.  At Dodie's Seafood Cafe located in Carrollton, TX.  they really know their business.  The first time I walked in the door (probably four years ago) I was transported to many vacations spent in New Orleans on Bourbon Street.  The wait staff is courteous and the food is authentic.  So if you are wanting good food at a reasonable price but don't have time to visit The Big N.O. drop by Dodie's on Josey just north of Frankford.  You will enjoy it.

"I GUAR..AN..TEE!"

Owned and operated by Jeff and Michelle Neri.

BTW- 'Oysters Dodie' is my favorite dish on the menu.  The oyster is shucked, seasoned with butter, oil, herbs then placed on the grill and served piping hot.  It doesn't get any better than that!

There is nothing-mo-better than a restaurant that takes you to another place...  Now I'm hungry again.

Debbie- It is nice to hear the music and smell the food. Fortunately, I brought home leftovers.

William- It is not just seafood.  It is all of those treats you get in New Orleans.  I have to admit the accents are hard for me to understand.

Mel, You're making me hungry!  I LOVE seafood--all kinds--and just stopped Saturday after "work" at a wonderful place where they sell it fresh as well.  I'll have to take a ride back and get some :)

Man!  Ever since I went to New Orleans a few years back, I have been trying to find something, anything that came close!  Nada!  We went to Downtown Disney (near Disneyland) one time and go so excited cuz there was a New Orleans themed restaurant...It was terrible!  I am jealous, sounds like you have a good one.

Can we all go on vacation and meet in New Orleans?

These Oysters Dodie sound so good, I am getting hungry. I was at Guppy's in Indian Rocks Beach Fl. last night and had

"Angles on Horseback"  witch translates to Oysters with Bacon and Apple sauce and broiled to a nice crisp

I love seafood, but my wife is allergic to shellfish. So, that being said, I don't get to have seafood often.
