Boring, Oregon.   There is excitement in the air the home of a Portland metro area Realtor, a home overlooking Highway 26 and an equestrian center in the small but exciting community of Boring, Oregon.   At approximately 6:30, AM on December 1st,  the greetings and ringing of the cow bells could be heard across the Boring valley as Edgar (keep tuned – someday he will show his face) proclaimed:  “The New Year Has Begun – Happy New Year”

As we look back over the past year there has indeed been good news and bad news, but “today, at the beginning of a New Year, we look ahead to the opportunities and exhilaration one finds as they bike, hike or snowboard in the regions around this great Northwest area of Oregon”  Edgar proclaimed.  With many-faceted goals set, with an attitude of prosperity and good cheer, our cabinets almost full, real estate a plenty, our interest rates low, let the doors open wide to  take advantage of the 13 month New Year.  Let the New Year begin.  Why wait for everyone else?

LOL - Yes Paul, to wear a name tag with your location of Boring on it does cause some jokes.  The first couple years I lived here I always made a point when I would register for a conference or convention out of town of using my office's address in Portland.  I've noticed that some of the younger people in town will say they are from Gresham or Portland.  However, Boring really is a great community of solid, well-established and in many cases, upper-income residents.  The old line, that the main street does not always reflect reality is very true here.  You get off the main streets and up into the hills and slopes, and you would think you are in SW Portland.  But .. like said about Washington, you have to have a sense of humor to live here :)
