I got an email from an old pilot friend from back in the day.
He was a helicopter pilot when we were the Army.
One of my earlier jobs in the Army was Flight Coordinator.  I kept track of his flight records among other things..
We used to share strange stories over the years and he sent this to me because of a running joke about older soldiers teaching the younger ones about life.

THERE IS A MORAL HERE!

A C-130 was lumbering along when a cocky F- 16 flashed by.
The jet jockey decided to show off.

The fighter jock told the C-130 pilot, 'watch this!' and promptly
Went into a barrel roll followed by a steep climb. He then finished
With a sonic boom as he broke the sound barrier. The F-16 pilot
Asked the C-130 pilot what he thought of that?

The C-130 pilot said, 'That was impressive, but watch this!'
The C-130 droned along for about 5 minutes and then the C-130
pilot came back on and said: 'What did you think of that?'
Puzzled, the F-16 pilot asked, 'What the heck did you do?'
The C-130 pilot chuckled. 'I stood up, stretched my legs, walked
to the back, went to the bathroom
, then got a cup of coffee and a
cinnamon bun.'

When you are young & foolish - speed & flash may seem a good thing !!!

When you get older & smarter - comfort & dull is not such a bad thing !!!

Us old folks understand this one.

Hang in there kids.... some day you too will be older, wiser and much more comfortable.

Dull just doesn't quite fit.  LOL

My father was a pilot for 10 years flying A-4 Skyhawks and he always said "There are old pilots and bold pilots, but no old bold pilots!

So true Greg....and I do wish we could hurry along some folks.

While I was reading your post Bob, you reminded me of two very dear friends, both lifers in the Air Force and one finally retired...think I'll call him....thanks for jogging my memory.

Bob-Cute story. Reminded me of my previous Broker who passed away. She was a pilot and her husband who worked in the same office with us went for a ride with her in a plane. She was doing all kinds of things and it scared the daylights out of him. He would never go with her anymore. He told me about it and guess what--I WOULDN'T GO EITHER....lol
