Hello Everyone:
I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday and that you all enjoyed time with your families and friends.
We have 30 days left in the year 2008 and I hope everyone makes it the best 31 days of the year in terms of your health and happiness, your family and your business. These last 30 days can actually set you up for a quick start in 2009. Don't wait until January 2nd to get your business off the ground. Don't say this is the dead time of year when nothing is happening. Momentum actually starts the minute you focus on your business, so why wait? Get a jump start on your competition and have your business plan and marketing strategies working for you now and watch your business explode in 2009 despite what you may hear in the media, if you know how to work your market.
Here's some tips I learned during the 29 years I spent as a sales executive in Corporate America.
1) Make a plan and then work that plan every day without failure
2) Reach out and contact (phone, e-mail, e-card) ALL your prospects before the middle of December with the goal of scheduling a follow up meeting (phone or in person) during the month of January and overbook your calendar for January (some will cancel on you when the day comes and if not, you get to choose who to reschedule).
3) If you have business you want/need to close before the end of the year but your client seems to be on the fence, find their "hot button" and push it! Knowing what gets your client motivated and meeting that need can help you close the business sooner rather than later.
4) Build and strengthen all relationships every day and see #2 above.
5) Get off your duff and get to work on YOUR business.
All the best
Joe
