Furman University will continue its High Noon lecture series in December. The lectures focus on the American economy and will take place at noon at Furman's FYI center in downtown Greenville.
The December series follows a fall discussion, Politics at High Noon, a weekly series of talks by Furman political science professors.
The first discussion, to be held Wednesday, Dec. 3, is titled "The ‘New' Washington and the Economic Picture: Rosy or Gloomy?" Economics professor Kailash Khandke will present the first talk.
Business and accounting professor Thomas Smythe will lead the Dec. 11 discussion, speaking on "The Stock Market: Can We Make Heads or Tails of It?" The Dec. 18 discussion will focus on "Oil/Energy: Are We Hostage or Kingpin?" and will be led by economics professor Ken Peterson.
