Nothing builds success faster than success...

Continued from Part 2.

Addendum to Part 2:  Most of us real estate professionals enjoyed several good years of "coasting" when sales were going great.  However, many of us coasted down the easy hill, when instead, we should have used that momentum to prepare for the coming uphill.  How do I know?  Because so many of us real estate pros invested in real estate and got subprime loans at the peak of the market, and are now in foreclosure... Maybe we should have invested in our businesses instead?

3. The leader gets to choose the course.  One of the reasons I work so hard to bike past my husband (refer to #2) is because when I'm in the lead, I get to choose the path.  I don't have to follow him on his favorite course because I get to choose my own path.  And the best part:  he has to follow me once I'm in front!  It's one of the few times I get to lead him -- so I pedal really hard to get in front.

Life Lesson:  If you don't like the path you're on, choose a new path.  Earn your way to the front of the pack.  Then make good decisions for your followers.

And BTW, you're not a leader until you have followers.

But to be a leader:  work hard to get in front, and then choose the right path.

Stay tuned for Part 4.

Any words of wisdom about your experiences?  I'd love to hear from you!
