4 Comments on Benefits of Social Clubs
Hi Patrick, I belong to a Rotary club in my town. I wouldn't have joined only for the networking benefits, but by being an active member, and sharing the same interests in community service as my fellow members, I have developed great relationships. That leads to business. My advice would be to join a club that interests you, so you will have that common bond with the other members, and so you will stay involved in the club's activities.
Tim has a good point. I have been attending several club meetings in the area just to see which ones, if any, where I feel comfortable in the group and interested in the agenda with a possibility of joining. A couple of initial luncheons/mixers for an org will give you a good idea if it's something you can get behind. So far, I have been pleasantly surprised by social clubs that I thought I would "check it out", and sometimes dissapointed in ones for which I had high hopes. So it goes. :) Good luck, dar
Tim,
I think they are a great way to network, and hopefully build your business.
Though you bring up good points about clubs like Rotary, I was speaking more strictly about social clubs themselves. Thanks for the input by all though.
